  10. The Smoking Cessation: A Report of The Surgeon General 2020 references John Polito’s book Freedom from Nicotine at WHYQUIT.com. In chapter One of the report it mentions that cold turkey is the way that most people have quit smoking and cites John’s book as one of the references addressing this issue. The new video from Joel Spitzer and its resource page discuss that while the report still pushes pharmacological interventions, the Surgeon General is acknowledging that cold turkey is how the majority of people have successfully quit. 11. Thanks for checking in @Old Man Coffee, with your fabulous news. Glad anxiety has lessened due to work stress going down, some of this may be due to your work situ but, also due to the anxiety involved with addiction that you have kicked to the curb. About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
