  1. Are your SOS's happening around the same time of the day ? I'll have to look. For expected crisis times, maybe you could plan for a little ceremony of 4 conscious breaths or some special activity...something/anything/everything. Getting your body to physically switch up the pattern will help break associations. Jumping jacks, Singing a whole song, Spin around three times. Dumb tricks to distract The Lizard part of your brain. You are doing really good, your resolve stands. You are smoke free !
  2. Sure, smoking does a lot for you, it does a whole helluva lot For You and To You. It keeps you enslaved in addiction, broke, ugly, smelly, stressed out, obsessed with smoking. It keeps you at high risk to Stroke out and for all of the Cancers. Smoking contributes to a wide variety of illnesses such as; Type 2 Diabetes, Macular Degeneration (blindness), Osteoporosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Emphysema, C.O.P.D. and Heart Disease. (to name a FEW) It keeps you from quickly fighting off infections. It rots your gums, gives you facial wrinkles, clouds your eyes, grays your skin, and ruins your voice. Yep. Smoking does a lot for you. That is the Truth. What else is smoking doing for you ? Oh, wait ! It gangsters your brain's pleasure and reward centers. It robs you of self confidence and inner peace.

  6. Plus, all the other mysterious junk e-cigs contain. This doesn't surprise me....why would companies NOT include a 'legal' addictive substance ? After all, it keeps consumers buying their product and nefariously marketing children...AGAIN. I am So glad to be free of all that nonsense. Grateful too.
  7. Really Good to see you. Soon you will not be thinking about smoking or not smoking. That part overwhelmed me too until I admitted that I thought of smokes every 20 minutes or less for Over 40 something YEARS. Then I saw my choice ! We can choose what we think and override the junkie. The addict will start to nag but, you must replace that voice with something interesting, something beautiful, something really Powerful...Your Own True Voice. Great to hear your sense of smell is coming back. Cigarettes really are putrid. Tomorrow will bring you more power. You're gonna be a mtoher fkucer when this is done, no doubt. :D
  8. You know, Tiffany. It really helps to be here. It help you stay accountable which is an excellent tool to keep a quit. You can't really be reliably accountable to yourself when you are in the throes of addiction because the addict is so dominant and persuasive. But, you can be accountable to the Tiff who wants to quit smoking and to all of us here who have quit and want you to succeed. We are your troops !

  11. Doreen is right, Tiff. and I would add, Until you stop believing the lies of addiction and start to 'hear' them yourself for the lies they are, you are going to have a really hard slog. You are both smart enough and strong enough to face reality. You are an addict, just like we are. We don't believe the lies anymore and neither must you. I am reminded of an old poster LeachaR, who's signature had a quote from Rosa Luxemberg, "Those Who Do Not Move, Do Not Notice Their Chains"
