  1. Hi all, Sorry that I haven't been on for a while, but things have been hectic with the family, and I have not been able to get to a computer until today. My quit is going strong and I am feeling great. Have had a few bad days but been that busy have managed to get through them. Hope everyone well, will log on tonight to start catching up with everything.
  2. Had a great day, got so much done in the garden, a lot more than I used to and feel great. Never realized how out of breath I used to get, it just became the normal for me I think. Loving all the energy, feeling and overall happiness that I am feeling now that I have quit. Planning new projects to do now that we can afford them as I am no longer just burning our cash. Feeling great looking forward to the rest of my new smoke free life.
  3. Had a fabulous and productive day in the garden, moving plants and rearranging the lay out. Never had to stop to get my breathe like I normally would, and got a lot more done than I normally would, loving all this new energy and life that this quit is giving me. Hopefully its a nice day tomorrow do that I can sort out the front garden before the weather changes and winter begins. Then I think it might be time to decorate the kitchen as I've been putting it of for ages, plus with the money I'm saving can get the wall paper that I want not the one I can afford, at this rate I will get all the things I have wanted to do completed in no time. Loving my life at the moment couldn't be happier.
  4. Sunny today, time to get in the garden and get it all ready for winter.
  5. Have had to apologize to my family for my cooking tonight. Had made leek and potato soup like I have always done for years only to find that I have been adding way to much pepper and salt, also made an apple crumble with was way to sweet. They always ate everything I made and never commented (scary wife and mam haha) but tonight I have had to admit that being the only smoker in the family for me to taste anything I was always adding large amounts due to my lack of taste. So now I am going to have to watch what I am adding so much more and hopefully we will all enjoy it better.
  6. Today, after a bumpy day yesterday I realized that I don't smoke because its what I want. Freedom from the nic demon and freedom to enjoy my life.
  7. You will do this, take it one day at a time and enjoy the feeling that you are now in control of your life not the horrid nic demon
  8. Day 10 Just got back from a walk with the dogs, feeling refreshed and not out of breathe like I used to be. Today is going well, got some leek and potato soup and an apple crumble made today, looking forward to trying them now that my taste has improved. Going to do a plan up for the garden as it need a major overhaul. Some that my new project to keep me busy over the next couple of weeks before the weather puts a stop to it (hopefully get a few weeks of good weather)
  9. Day 10, yes I've reach double figures Had a bit of a bumpy ride yesterday, but got through it. Going well today, got the house sorted, cooked a big pan of leek and potato soap, made an apple crumble so now it time for lunch then out for a walk with the dogs. I am feeling good and am finding that I have more time for things than I used to have. Loving this smoke free life.
  10. So true. This time I got myself ready for this quit with plenty of reading and research. I am having a much better time dealing with my quit because I know that its and addiction and not something that I need to survive. Going strong and getting through the bad patches.
  11. Struggled this morning but am still saying NOPE

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
