Welcome aboard the Quit Train Freedom53. Good call on giving up the smokes. You can change the beat you're dancing to anytime you like. The choice is yours. You have all the power.

The remnants of Hurricane Ida are rolling through here today. So, you might notice a theme here.

If you're looking at committing to an exercise regimen, you need to plan for those "punch the clock" days. Not really feeling it, but you get in the gym and do the work anyway. I've had days where I didn't feel like working out, but just by starting the process and doing some work, I ended up having a good workout. Felt better the rest of the day for having stuck to my routine. Every now and again you'll have days where your mind and body are perfectly in sync. You feel motivated and ready to get after it. Might even feel like grabbing life by the balls and swinging it around. Enjoy those days, they are few and far between.

Elizabeth Cook played this one earlier today during her "Apron Strings" show. Took me back, my grandfather thought these guys were hilarious.

Well, getting blown all night... Sometimes the jokes write themselves.

I don't think it's on Netflix yet, but I suggest watching "Conagher" if you can find it; I'm pretty sure you can rent it on YouTube. It is one of the most underrated westerns of all-time. Conagher is based on the Louis L'Amour novel of the same name and stars Sam Elliott.

The last movie I watched on Netflix was "The Dawn Wall." Even if you don't care one iota about mountain climbing, this is a great documentary. Couple of fellas facing a big obstacle, persevering, overcoming, and eventually triumphing...all that good stuff. Tommy Caldwell is one of the best climbers in the world despite having cut off his left index finger. He was held hostage in Kyrgyzstan and pushed a terrorist off of a mountain to escape. Then he became the first man to successfully climb the Dawn Wall. Fair to say, he's had an interesting life.

Since his passing, Charlie Watts has been described as a "subtle genius" by multiple sources. Watts didn't crave the limelight yet, almost begrudgingly, became a legend.

Don and Phil gave us some of the best harmonies ever. Unfortunately, we also lost Tom T. Hall last week. Hall did what was probably my grandfather's favorite song of all-time.
