  1. No excuses. You've stopped smoking or better yet, quit smoking so you better make sure you stick around this quit smoking support group which has it's own message forum, or as you like to put it, message board. Nope.
  2. 7,768 cigarettes not smoked in almost 8 months. $2,774.27 saved. $11 per day, $83 per week and $332 per month to smoke. Disgusting how I used to waste my hard earned money. You can do a lot of things with $332 per month. Two private music lessons per week for one child is what my smoking can now pay for. Look at the stark contrast between where that money goes to now. I sit here literally speechless to think of all the benefits that learning music has to a child versus me smoking and shortening my life which hurts my children more than me. I'm so glad I quit. I'm so glad my Dr. told me I was an addict and full of shit. I'm so glad to have found other quitters who understand. :i-m_so_happy:
  3. The only advice I have is to keep your guard up if you drink any alcohol. Many people relapse because of alcohol so just be aware of what happens if you drink and like Ava said, check in on your mobile if you need to. Also, any thread in the S.O.S. forum goes straight to all of the moderators email/cell phones as well as many other members so you won't be left in a lurch if you find yourself having a tough time. You're 3 weeks quit so you deserve a reward and the freedom to do whatever you want without the fear of smoking. Have fun and remember that you're a non-smoker and have already freed yourself from the grip of nicotine addiction.
  4. Job well done, Sue. Congrats!!!

  11. I understand what you say about quit smoking, stop smoking and finding a good quit smoking support group, (or stop smoking support group as you like to put it) community, message board, forum or whatever you want to call it. Makes sense to me so I'm going to stand on a parapet and shout to the people to quit smoking and that I know of a place where they can understand how to quit smoking. I quit smoking that is proof that anybody can.
  12. I haven't heard from him but the last I knew he was hitting the highway with his RV. I hope he didn't break down somewhere or decide to turn into Walter White from "Breaking Bad" or Dale from "The Walking Dead". If so, he's very busy at the moment. :)
  13. Thank you but it's really the membership who deserves credit. Google now works unlike any other search engine out there and can scan the Internet in a split second as it indexes pages. So, the more it sees words like quit smoking or other words that people would use to find a quit smoking support group the higher the rankings. :)
  14. How do I quit smoking? Find a good quit smoking support group like quit train. How can I quit smoking? A good support community helps.

  16. Congrats, Gemzee! Thank you for being here.
  17. Sometimes people quit just because they want to stop killing themselves and really have no other reason to quit other than that. If even they don't want to quit, they do it anyway because it's just time. You're right, the cycle is relentless and vicious. Sometimes when we know we must do something because it's the right thing for us to do but really would rather just put it off for another day, year or decade, we just have to say f*ck it and drive on. Don't want to quit right now because you don't think you have the determination? F*ck it and take care of business. Got a crave? Same thing. Newness of the quit wore off? Same thing. That little saying is what I live by. lol When things suck, get hard or wish I wasn't having to deal with something I just say f*ck it. What else can you do sometimes? F*ck it, just quit.
  18. No smoking on the train so I couldn't even if I wanted to. NOP,eva
  19. Welcome to Quit Train and congrats on making the decision to quit. Anybody can quit and so can you. Don't hope, just do it. No matter how bad you want to smoke, don't. Education about this addiction is the key to quitting. Have you read anything in the Newbie Database? There is a wealth of good information to be read, smoking/tobacco documentaries to watch and other pinned topics that will be extremely helpful in learning about this addiction and staying quit. Start a thread in Quit Smoking Forum and post in it at least once per day if you can so we can help you along the way. For me, quitting was enjoyable because I focused on the health benefits as soon as I put out my last cigarette. Here are a couple of quick videos to watch. Trust me, you can quit. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TL2Vh7goJc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVEyGdqwjmQ

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
