  2. So sorry to hear it, you have to get off that hop on, hop off merry go round, and stop letting yourself be sweet talked into going to buy stinking cigs . GET MAD WITH IT. TALK TO YOURSELF, YOU DONT NEED IT. Ask yourself ..what does it do for me, in a short while you will want to stop again, well I hope you do, and don’t get sucked in for a long haul ride. Take care.

  4. Ohh @Pilgrim I am really sorry to hear that!! You can't buy any cigarettes, because when you do, you will smoke them, as you can see! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again, but this time I really hope you don't go back! Throw out the cigs and all the smoking paraphernalia. Stresses in life will ALWAYS happen, you have to learn to deal with it without smoking. As you know, smoking doesn't take the problems away! I know you can do this because we all did and you will too!!

  6. I relapsed several times before quitting for good. It is a tough life to live as I knew I was better off not smoking. I kept at it and eventually did quit for good and yes, it is worth it. Put those cigarettes down as soon as possible and reach out for help here if you are tempted to light up. You can quit and you need to quit.
  7. Ugh! We know how hard it is, the strength of that siren song. Good on you for being accountable and sharing here. I agree 100% with @despair not. Don't slide back into the norm of smoking. Re-start your quit again asap. You know that smoking is not your "friend"... that it neither gratifies nor soothes, that it triggers yet another shame cycle. You are not doomed to repeat that loop over and over again. You can be free! It all starts with your refusal to comply with the stinkin thinkin in your head. Hop back on this Train, my friend.
  8. Sorry to hear that pilgrim. You know the drill quit again Now.
  9. Well folks, 10 days into my quit and I succumbed once again to the seductive calling. I was feeling good about my quit. I already started jogging again and was truly enjoying the smoke-free life. This morning my kids went back to their mom's for the week and my seven day work week began and the "need" to smoke overwhelmed me. I only hope I can get through it quickly and get back to a nicotine free life again soon.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
