I have not heard of that one. Heard some get constipated which would be the opposite. Perhaps some other cause? We tend to attribute any change in bodily function to our quit because there are changes going on but more often than not, it's just a coincidental timing issue.

Yes when I quit and got a cough and cold two months later I was like WHAT was thinking hey I don't smoke I shouldn't be coughing.... My sisters just laughed they don't smoke. They said what you thought you wouldn't ever get sick again!

I also developed a cough about a month into my quit, I never had a cough while I was smoking.  It lasted about a month.

Diarrhoea in the first few days of my quit...is this common...I'd this normal?

last week, i went 55 hours without a cigarette. one of the biggest side effects i had was diarrhea. i know that everyone's quit is different, but it looks like that was something we have/had in common.

another side effect i have had/did have is light headedness. feeling super dizzy almost and my eyes being seemingly blurry. blood sugar dropping [drink lots of cranberry juice and orange juice and stay hydrated with water]

i am so proud of you <3

Hahaha yes got that too :)

The only thing that is keeping me going is knowing these symptoms are only temporary & I will feel better soon.

Also great hearing all of your comments about symptoms - I don't feel so unusual :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
