April 8, 201610 yr Hey there, I myself am experienced quitter. I have been non-smoker many times and always relapsed to chain smoking once i smoked single cigarette... There were periods in my life when I wasnt smoking for 2 years and 1 year and half... but as I said i kept relapsing back to it again... This time I decided to quit one more time, its been 5 days and I feel amazing, never even thought about smoking again. I know there are people who cant stop smoking for even couple days, I would be more than happy to help anyone to quit, please don't hesitate to PM me ;)
April 8, 201610 yr Im starting to see a pattern and the reason, NOPE is so important. I have also fallen several times to the trap..... the call of the siren.
April 8, 201610 yr Hi welcome. NOPE to me is the most important. No need to awaken the inner beast once it is in a deep sleep. In the beginning it may be yourself saying NOPE every few minutes. Never give yourself permission
April 8, 201610 yr welcome to the train :) through your experience, what made you after so long keep going back to the one, was it the same reason each time? we know just one is not an option, we pledge to NOPE, not one puff ever congratulations on day 5
April 8, 201610 yr Congrats...never give up...giving up...let's make this your sticky quit.. All the knowledge and support is here...x
April 8, 201610 yr The challenge in escaping the trap of nicotine addiction is not so much in quitting smoking....but in remaining a non smoker. The only way this is done is to never take another puff....not one. Pledge to do that every day and you will be successful. Congrats and welcome!!
April 8, 201610 yr Welcome aboard kps. I threw away several quit attempts myself. Water under the bridge. Some hit it on the first try, others of us had to back up and take another run at it. Eventually you find yourself in a place where the mind and body are working together and the promise of being a nonsmoker fulfills itself. Congratulations on 5 days.
April 8, 201610 yr Yep, thrown away a few long term quits. Nope is the only way. Stick with these guys, they will see you right.
April 9, 201610 yr Hey there, I myself am experienced quitter. I know there are people who cant stop smoking for even couple days, I would be more than happy to help anyone to quit, please don't hesitate to PM me ;) You've been quit for 5 days and don't even think about smoking anymore? Am I misunderstanding? You're not in any position to ask members to PM you to solicit your help in quitting smoking. You have 5 days under your belt, you should be asking for help and reading/watching/posting here on the boards to learn how to make this quit stick. Those early in their quits need to be seeking advice from those who have long quits going, not those with less than a week, yourself included. Why a private message? Support should be given on the discussion boards to help everybody, especially the lurkers who are still on the fence about quitting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtClWuFdeIA&app=desktop At times people join up at Internet quit smoking sites, announce they are serial quitters and express the hope that they can now get help to quit and also help others who are now quitting. Video explains why these are the last people that new quitters should be looking to for help or advise on how to quit smoking. P.S. I've removed your own advertisement in your signature. That is not allowed here.
April 10, 201610 yr I want to add that once you understand that one means many - a great battle is won. It's the understanding that stops us picking up another cigarette and I feel that you've got a fair point and understanding. Massive congrats on 5 days free and happy to see you here offering and receiving support. x
May 8, 201610 yr Hello & welcome, Kps. I go back & forth with my quits. They haven't lasted more than a few days. I smoke a couple of packs a month. The thing is, I was a non smoker most of my life. Yet, it seems as difficult to stop as it does for those who have been smoking since they were a kid & having a couple of packs a day. I do hope you enjoy your time here, receive the support you need & make many new friends.
