September 10, 201411 yr A couple years ago while talking to my daughter, she mentions a friend from college who was going to be in town because he has something to do with (the band)Foreigner ..(PR)..and was going to meet up with him...i thought it was cool he worked with them..Daughter was surprised i knew who Foreigner was  (I mean REALLY....lol)..Once she found out I liked them...even seen them back in the early 80's, she sends a text that JT (her friend) has tickets waiting for us at will call for the next evenings concert...(vip passes, meet and greet, ..front row floor seats..etc!) The concert included Foreigner, Journey and Night Ranger...it was GREAT! Fast forward a couple years and Kristin sends a text and says that JT called and is in the area and wondered if "Mom and Dad" wanted more tickets..only this time he has switched jobs and is with Journey........um..YES!.....so... Yesterday afternoon, I took off early from work and we headed to Columbus to the Schottenstein Center and again, had tickets waiting for us at the will call desk :) actually ..had 4 tickets waiting for us..my sister-in-law and a friend also went... Had a great time!...between shows, JT came down and introduced himself to us (again..met him at the other concert before also).. and he came bearing gifts ..lol..he had 1/2 dozen Journey Concert tee shirts for us..all signed by the band...how cool is that?! :) Hes a real nice guy...he said any time they are in driving distance, give him a call, and he will have tickets waiting... Our seats were on the floor, center stage, 8 rows back...here is a pic of us at our seats before the concert started Of course, the band(s) rocked and it was a great time!..I could post a hundred pics of the stage, but in reality, they all kinda look the same...lol..here was our view:: My wife is hoping he quits Journey and starts to promote (John) Bon Jovi lol... Im am hoping for Areosmith myself ;) Got home about 1am and the alarm went off this morning at 5am to get up for work....Sherrie (my wife) wasnt too happy :(

September 10, 201411 yr Author That's pretty cool, Joe. You and your wife make a great looking couple. Love this song. Great flashback to the past. :) Thanks MQ..(and the rest of you)..that song was in the playlist last night, and the "new" singer( Arnel Pineda) covered it great! ..He may not look anything like Steve Perry, but he sure sounds great covering all the "older" Journey tunes. A Funny story.... Last night on the way to the concert, we stopped in Delaware (Ohio) to grab a bite to eat before we got to the concert...we stopped in Delaware because it was about 1/2 hr to 45 mins from the venue and I was trying to avoid as much rush hour traffic as I could...well, since 2 of my daughters live in Delaware, I am pretty familiar with it and we went to a nice little restaurant just off the main drag, that had a nice patio... The waitress came to take our order, and I could only get 1/2 way through ordering without busting out laughing.....of course my wife was shooting me dirty looks...when the waitress left, Sherrie asked what that was all about... I had to explain, that sometime in the early 80's when I went to see Journey, we stopped into Burger King, and instead of 1...I got 2 Whoppers because I knew it was going to be a long night..lol...and..in the back seat of the car I had a cooler full of beer for the trip there, and once we got there we proceeded to drink even more (I wont even go into how many packs of smokes...and how much "illegal" smokes we had ;) )...at that story, my wife and her sister and friend (who was along with us) was laughing....BECAUSE approx 35 years later ...same "road trip" to see the same band...only, we go to a little restaurant with a patio...and I order Stuffed Talopia on a bed of rice with Alfredo sauce (stuffed with shrimp and spinach) with a side of sweet potato fries and drinking TEA!...lol... my....how times have changed!
September 10, 201411 yr I am so jealous right now. Journey is my all time fave behind Aerosmith. If you go to Aerosmith I will most likely have to stop speaking with you. xx
September 10, 201411 yr Love Foreinger and Journey - right up my street :) Great seats, and that JT sounds like a really nice guy! Wouldn't mind having a few pals like that myself! Also, you and Sherrie look great together - glad you had a good time!!

September 11, 201411 yr journey is great- took girl when I was 16 and on my driving permit. lots of fun couple years a go took group to Sturgis, hooked up with group there and 20 of us get a limo and go to the biggest campground there, buffalo chip, been on tv few times, to see journey so one drunk (who knows why) from the second group sucker punches the smallest guy in our Pittsburgh group. I do my best superman flying through crowd and stangle choke him while a few more locals who knew him try to get at me. more just hold him down and protect myself from punches. my group sees no point in jumping in and just watches but I hold my own for several minutes and its all broken up. my group gets a cab back to house but we stay. later wife says "did you have a good time?" I say it was one of the best days ever, in Sturgis riding motorcycle all day, in limo drinking, got to see journey at buffalo chip, got in a fight and didn't get hurt. that's a lifetime story.
September 13, 201411 yr Sounds fab!! All music is good music :) However I read this and remembered seeing this It made me chuckle :)
