Mid Life Misery for Women only

This dr is a boutique dr with bio identical hormones plus every anti aging treatment in the world such as plasma injections and radio frequency lasers and fancy detoxes to lose weight such as a liver flush. :0 This is the first doctor I have been to whose nurses offered me coffee or tea or sparkling water. They are are wrinkle fee with collagen lips and wide eyes.

Lord have mercy. When did I turn into this type of person.

Go home. Have a cup of tea. Turn the fan on high. My sympathies.

FYI: the "smooth" people are demons.

I'm 59 & still have some problems, I was so looking forward to the change & having sex w/o birth control but damn it I haven't been "lucky" in yrs.

I empathize with the person that said,

'If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself'

none-the-less, work with what cha got.

At 59,  things aren't just going South...they have MOVED away.

Still hot flashing (since 2005 ?),

only a few a night now and sleeping sometimes more than the 4 hour-at-a-stretch allotment I was originally given, pffft.

but, not bleeding to death monthly since then. (There is a god, maybe).

It got very squirrlely there before the 'change' (what a quaint phrase)

and I would bleed the moment My Beloved arrived or threatened to come over .

That went on for a year.

Moody ? Can't tell because I live alone and can't bite imaginary friend's  head off.

I did preventative maintenance and put my fire ax up in the attic.

I am doing this Cold Turkey and white knuckled

well, not so knuckled anymore it has been such a damn long ride by now I am used to it.

Still pretty juicy down there when needed.  But, there is always Astro-Glide or whatever that stuff is called now.

Do you know that when you stop HRT you get back all the symptoms that you missed  ?

Also dangers of stroke...etc.  Be careful !

In my SOS kit, I have a beautiful ceiling fan over my bed, a Vetivert Hand Fan, plenty of Ice packs in the freezer.

Unfortunately, Alcohol makes things worse and caffeine but,

I don't care, I will suffer a heatwave gladly if I can still have Wine-spodie-odie and gallons of cafe.

There may be more information I could help with,

especially if you are cold turkey/white knuckling it.

Aine is right about The Smooth Faced People and Tea.

Herbal tea=comfort.

There are specific herbs to be found googling around and

I did some blue cohosh and raspberry leaf for early gruesome days

(don't use  Cohosh if you are pregnant or wanna be)

but, just a normal cuppa did fine in chilling me out.

The Placebo Effect is my drug of choice.

(Just found this section of the Train and don't know if I will remember how I got here)

From my bathtub with floating ice cubes,

I just wanted to give my sympathies to all the women

and to all your partners (bless their hearts).

.

Don't care how you quit smoking

and it sure aint none of my biz how you live through Menopause,

I hope you find comfort and support in any way you negotiate this.

It SUCKs, bebe,  No doubt about it.

Be Cool.

The one thing that has worked without fail is one of my battery operated fans propped up one inch from my sweaty bed so the wind blows down my back. I bought the fan as part of my hurricane supplies but it is great for this time. Come on winter

Hey B...

Cold water run on the "pressure points" of the wrists before bed seems to help give La B a headstart on getting asleep....

Try to laugh...

There was a time when 'sweaty bed' was a good thing! ;)

oh holy cow I was worried until I got to the word "fan" Beacon...was worried about over abundant frig...well anyway...let me know how you're doing. Both cause I worry and apparently starting periods at 9 mean starting the whole meno plan early.

Hoping you're feeling more positive my lovely. xx

Oh Beacon,  Hurricane supplies.  Exactly.

You are smart Lady, toots.  Battery operated Fans !

In 05,  I was hot flashing with no power, no water (except to drink,  thank gawd).

NO battery powered life saving FAN, no ICE  for 13 day  apres Katrina.

Life got very interesting in a Hurry, lemme tell ya..

I did have Gin.  Good for cuts and scrapes too.

Let us have a quiet Season, Beacon.

I worry about your part of the country, now that I know you are there.

Love,

S

Thanks S, so far so good. I went through Andrew here and never want to experience that again! The roar of a category 5 hurricane is something you do not forget

dang it I was trying to figure out what you meant had to look a couple of times then ah duh LMAO  still giggling :)

How are you feeling Frez ?

and how is El Bandito living through this ?

Damn, Bacon would have a ball knowing who posts in the Wimmen Section.  :)

I was thinking last night that I might actually be sleeping

more than 3-4 hours at a time

(for what, eight or NINE years ?).

No longer sleeping on towels

or getting up to dry off,

or jumping  in cold shower in the middle of the night

or lying for a while on cold tile floor.

That is just crazy.  Amazing what you get used to.

I haven't gone to bed with my ice packs lately either.

Dare I say I am past the Pause part of the Meno ?

No, I dare not Jinx it.

Hang in there, Girlfriends.

What is the reward ?

pfffffffffffft.

Stars In Your Crown.

As I said, pfffffffffffffffttt.

Love,

S

We are just made to suffer, aren't we?  :(

Two more days until my blood test and then I can take this sample tube of estrogel the dr gave me and pour it over my body.

I feel so bad for everybody...myself included although I am nearing the end (one way or the other !)

:(

That is SO funny, Doll.  cryin' here !  thanks.

I was asked to post this here, lol.

That is the most awesome video!^^^^^^^^^^My mom actually bought me a kit ! And she told my father ! :)

Let's go estrogen cream! Woo hoo!

I sympathize with you Beacon.

I saw my mom go through menopause and she was miserable.

I haven't gotten my period in almost a year, so I have no idea what's wrong with me. When the doctor did his checks, everything was fine. I've heard of women getting menopause early, so who knows.
