We spent an inordinate amount of time examining a woolly worm we found. Maddie was fascinated by the little critter. She watched him crawl around and liked it when he would curl up anytime I picked him up.
March 23, 20215 yr Happy 9 Months to the Train,s Little Princess .... Ask Papa to Hug you on our Behalf 💕💕
March 24, 20215 yr Author What will Miss Maddie's first word be? It's a big question. I was thinking "da-da" would be a fine choice. Sugar Britches was leaning towards "ma-ma." Instead Maddie throws us a curve and looks at Cash and says: "woof." On the one hand, it is cute. On the other hand...c'mon, seriously? She learns the dog's language before that of her mother and father. In other news: Maddie got her alignment issues worked out and no longer crawls in circles. She can shoot across the floor in a straight line at a pretty good clip now. Not one to be content, Maddie is now pulling up and can stand with a little assistance. The other night, she was leaning against an ottoman. She pushed away from it and for a couple of seconds was standing up all on her own. That's one small step for Maddie, one brief leap for babies everywhere...or something like that.
March 24, 20215 yr Lol.....children and animals....They never do ..what you expect them to do ... Wow !!!!.....What a difference a month makes ....sounds to me she wants to move around sharpish .... It's about now everything starts moving up and out of reach of tiny hands ... And a extra pair of eyes and hands would come in handy..
March 24, 20215 yr G’day Yes and every treasure that those little fingers finds makes its way into the toilet bowl. Kids!

When I bought the covers for all of the electrical outlets in the house, all the man at the hardware store said was: "So, the baby is on the move now?" He knew I would be back. 20 minutes ago, Cbdave said: G’day Yes and every treasure that those little fingers finds makes its way into the toilet bowl. Kids! Maddie has not gone porcelain diving yet...yet being the key word. She did find a box of Kleenex tissues in the bathroom. Discovered that when you pull one tissue out, another pops right up. The satisfied look on her face would indicate that this was her first foray into the world of magic.
March 24, 20215 yr @Boo You need to get that doggie on side to help with the mobility thing 😂 Edited March 24, 20215 yr by reciprocity

And what wouldn't fit down the loo...got thrown off the balcony .... This is a trip down memory lane lol...
March 31, 20215 yr Author Maddie pulled up on the bottom step last night and stood up all by herself. She can only stand for a couple of seconds before getting a case of the jelly legs. She fell on her bottom, but was undeterred. The little gal practiced her new skill several times. She is also adding to her comic repertoire. Most babies blow raspberries, but Maddie has better comic timing than most of her peers. I told her this morning as she was rolling around on the changing table: "now you're just being silly." She looked very serious for a second, then blew a raspberry and laughed. Maddie is beautiful, smart, talented, and funny. This kid is the total package.

Walk around in the backyard with a basket looking for eggs that we're not going to eat. When you think about it, it does seem like an exercise in futility. Maddie does like her new plush toy bunny. She has been gnawing on the little rabbit's ears all day.
April 4, 20215 yr When we were kids we all three would set our Easter baskets on the coffee table before we went to sleep. The next morning there would be a jellybean trail leading us from our rooms to where the Easter bunny hid our baskets. We loved it. 😊
April 5, 20215 yr I couldn't believe how small they are making those Cadbury eggs now ...Scrooge.....🙁
April 12, 20215 yr Author Miss Maddie learned to crawl and has pretty quickly lost interest in that already. The girl is cruising now. If there is a piece of furniture, railing, fencing...really anything she can hold on to and shuffle side-to-side...off she goes. One of her favorite places to cruise is along the fence line of the donkey pen. Peanut and Shorty walk along with her and stick their heads between the rails. Maddie babbles and laughs at them, they bray back at her. It's cute. Noisy, but cute. Sugar Britches and I have been very careful about where we set things down on tables that Maddie can pull up to. There can be 100 toys in the room, but if the little gal sees a glass of water near the edge of a table, that is what she's going for. Last night, one of Maddie's toys was laying in the middle of the coffee table. She did a few laps around the table but could never quite find a spot where she could reach her toy. Cash comes along, Maddie points at the toy, Cash grabs it with his mouth and pulls it to her. Those two working together are going to be a formidable pair.

I'm not typically a dancer, but I did cut a rug last night. Maddie was holding on to the couch and started bouncing up and down to the music I was playing. It was the first time we've seen her really respond to a song. Maddie got the party started, me and Sugar Britches couldn't help but join in. I'm happy to report that the song that got Maddie moving was "Picture Book" by the Kinks. The little gal has good taste in music.
