Introduced Miss Maddie to an all-time Christmas classic last night.  Got her all bundled up in a warm blanket and we watched Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer together.  She made little "ooh" and "aah" noises every time Rudolph's nose lit up.

Meanwhile, Sugar Britches always lets out a big "awww!" every time the scene of Rudolph and Clarice meeting for the first time comes on.

If you're looking for a betting line on how many times "Rudolph" will be watched at my house before Christmas, the over/under is 4.

My all time favorite Christmas program. Little Maddie has good taste. I love Rudolph so much that I bought him, Hermie, Yukon Jack and the Abominable snowman lighted yard decorations. I just gave them to my neighbors across the street last year so their grandkids could enjoy them 😊

Shout out to Ms. Burnette, a very nice lady who lives down the road from us.  She made Maddie her first Christmas stocking, put a lot of time and skill into it.  It's pink and has Maddie's name on a banner hanging between two candy canes.  On the rest of the stocking there is a Christmas tree with Santa Claus on one side and a snowman on the other.  A very thoughtful gift and one that will be in the family from now on.

In other news, it won't be long before Miss Maddie has her first teeth.  We don't have any little pearly whites yet, but they're coming soon.  Maddie has had a few moments this week where she didn't feel great and got a little fussy.  Beyond that, the most noticeable difference has been the amount of drool.  Who knew such a little person could produce so much drool?  Me and Sugar Britches spend a good deal of our time now drying Maddie's chin.

I mentioned before that we're slowly introducing solid foods into Maddie's diet.  The little gal has been receptive to most of the foods we've tried.  She does have a clear favorite though: bananas.  Our little monkey loves bananas...makes sense.

Good ' on ya....Ms Burnett....How lovely and thoughtful....your stocking sounds very sweet and special ....

Aww Poor Princess Maddie...it's time for those troublesome toothypegs to appear ...

Watch your nose Boo....most love to have a quick bite ,when you least expect it ...

Nice to hear she is a good eater ...Nana Scouse has a banana every morning with her breakfast ...

Not this upcoming weekend but the next: December 19 or 20.  I want to get them home before Christmas.

The fencing is complete.  I had help with that over Thanksgiving weekend and we made quick work of it.  I'm going to add a half wall to the front of their shelter (right now it's a three-sided structure) and put in a new gate.  Then...we'll be ready to welcome Peanut and Shorty home.

We went to visit them this weekend.  Sugar Britches chopped up a couple of apples as a treat for them.  The little fellas are really beginning to grow on me now.

Last Christmas it was Sugar Britches, Cash, and me.

This Christmas we've added Maddie, Peanut, and Shorty.

At the rate we're going, we'll be able to set up a live nativity scene in the backyard next Christmas.

Congratulations big dummy. Sorry I missed all this.

Miss Maddie is six-months old already.  The little gal has changed a lot in a half-year.

That little bundle we brought home who slept most of the time is now the life of the party.  Smiling, laughing, babbling...big personality for such a little girl.

Not only can the little gal sit up on her own now, she can quickly transition into lying position and start rolling to wherever in the house she wants to go.  Maddie's a mover.

Peek-a-boo and ride a little horsey are still fan favorites here.  The main event is when she sits in her bouncy chair and watches Cash play fetch.  I'll fake a couple of throws and Cash does a quick start-and-stop, that makes her giggle.  When I actually throw the ball and Cash takes off, Maddie laughs uncontrollably.

In lieu of birthday cake, we had some pureed bananas this morning...Maddie's favorite.  And I've got some insider information that says Santa Claus is on his way, Miss Maddie has been a very good girl this year.

Maddie's first Christmas was a success.  Low key and relaxed, but a good time was had by all.

We had a little bit of snow here on Christmas Eve...a very little bit.  It was just enough to dust the ground and stick to the grass for a little while before melting away.  Not exactly the Winter Wonderland type image you see on Christmas cards.  Technically that counts as a White Christmas...using Tennessee standards.

Both sets of grandparents came to the house on Christmas Eve.  Sugar Britches got Maddie all gussied up for Christmas Eve dinner.  The little gal was wearing a red velvet dress, a pair of black patent shoes, and had a red bow in her hair.  She was a sight to see.

Christmas morning was a more informal affair.  Maddie wore her footy pajamas all day and with the bow gone she was sporting some serious bed-head hair.  She seemed a little overwhelmed by all the toys and clothes she got, but had a great time playing with the wrapping paper.  She crinkled it, ripped it, rolled around on it...all those gifts and she spent most of the day playing with the paper the gifts came in.

This was a simple Christmas that ended up feeling like the perfect Christmas.

Aww Little Maddie must have looked so cute ...but of course ....she IS a Princess.....

First Christmas .... how Special ....and it was a tiny bit white ....

Sounds a perfect time by all....

Seeing Little People,s faces light up ...all excited ....is the best part ....

Enjoy your paper Sweetheart....😁❤️🐸🎅🎄

Cash also enjoys playing with the wrapping paper.  Gets a piece in his mouth and shakes his head around.  Maddie thinks it's hilarious when he does that.

Who knew?  We didn't really need to buy presents.  Just throw some wrapping paper in the floor and let the dynamic duo of Maddie and Cash play with that all day.

Miss Maddie has her first tooth now.  One little incisor on the bottom.

She was a little grouchy last night, seemed like the teething pains were getting to her.  Thing is: she slept pretty well eventually and when I went to get her out of her crib this morning she smiled at me and I noticed the tooth.  She slept right through the part where the tooth popped through her little gums.  The little gal is a trooper.  Looking at her gums, I think she'll have her second incisor pop through and day now...complete the pair.

We're nowhere near a full set of choppers just yet, but that little tooth really shines when she smiles.

Well, that didn't take long.  Maddie's second lower incisor came through this afternoon.  Now she has a pair of pearly whites right in the center of her smile.

No one warned us how hard it is to brush baby's first teeth.  Working with that tiny toothbrush...trying to hit a moving target.  Brushing Maddie's teeth requires the precision of building a ship in a bottle.

The bouncy seat for babies is one of the more underrated inventions of all time.  Maddie loves hers.

We keep ourselves entertained in the evenings with me "chasing" Maddie.  Actually, she is limited to turning around in the chair.  She thinks if she can't see me, I can't see her...I play along with it.  I tell her "I'm gonna get you."  She laughs and turns around.  Then I go around through the dining room and sneak up on her.  I'm not sure which of us enjoys playtime more.

Here's what you do: get you a baby and a bouncy seat, you'll never be bored again.

Aww....how brilliant ....

I can imagine Maddie giggling and chuckling ....they are so much fun ...

Enjoy these wonderful times Boo...time passed so fast ...

But

I remember you saying you were ....!!!..Going to get me  !!!.....lol.....

Get myself a baby ...well....I think that would be a miracle to behold ....but if your offering to try lol....

I promise not to get bored !!!!

Just saying !!!

Sugar Britches was talking to one of her friends last night.  The friend says: 'So one of you puts a clean towel back in the dryer so Maddie will have a warm towel when she gets out of the bathtub."  Sugar Britches replied with a simple "yes", no explanation needed.

Is Maddie spoiled?  Yes.

Does Maddie deserve the royal treatment?  Yep, she's our little princess.
