My dad made the kid a little table and chairs set...it's in storage for now...I made her (ok I assembled a flat pack) an little desk/chalkboard/cabinet that she loved....it is sorta like this but little kid sized, when the desk was folded up it is a chalk board

Just had a great idea... Keep ya off cuts cos you can use them to make building blocks.

 

The building clocks font have to be all dimensionally same same...I know it will mess with your not so latent OCD but do it anywho.

My Grandmother, a stalwart and formidable woman, made me a settle and a little table in the Shaker design (simple/clean).

I loved this so much.

I've got eight pieces of scrap wood set aside from the crib build to make matching picture frames for the walls of the nursery.  I'm going to start with a couple of 8x10 frames.

I hadn't even thought about potty training yet.

 

Cash just goes out in the yard and does his business.  It's a bit more complicated with a kid.

Baby Boo is starting to get active.  Sugar Britches said she wouldn't describe the movement as a kick, not yet anyway, but more of a feeling of temporary bouts of "fluttering."  The activity levels have increased this weekend and the little one is an early bird; more activity in the morning than other times of the day.

 

We went over to Laurel Snow this morning.  The baby got increasingly active as we hiked near Richland Creek and eventually reached the falls.  I like to think this means that my kid has a natural affinity for waterfalls and steep creeks.

It is so wonderful reading about Baby Boo's progress!  Thanks for sharing!

Oh Boo, this is such a happy time.   I am sure little boo is going to take many hikes with daddy.

When I was young and taking care of my babies, I thought schedules were so important and babies were down for their naps at a certain time.  I would never think of taking them out on a long hike, which would interfere with something on that schedule.  My idea of a hike was a couple of times around the block.  Young people today don't skip a beat and they spend so much quality time with their children.  Thank goodness I was young enough to enjoy my grand kids that way.  I am so looking forward to following your adventures!

It is official...It's a baby girl.  I have a daughter on the way.

 

This morning's exam went great.  Mother and daughter are both healthy and right on track.  And the sonogram provided the long-awaited answer to the big question.

 

We already have a name picked out as well.  Her name is Maddie May.  Madeline was the name of Sugar Britches' grandmother, a woman she loved dearly.  I thought May had a nice ring to it and my wife's real name is April.  April gives birth to May...the predicted due date is in June...sometimes it just all comes together.

So Happy for you both .....a little precious Princess....

I love the name ....Maddie May .....and so meaningful.....

Great news Mum and baby are both fine ....and thriving .....

Oh Boo.  I love the name.  She is going to be daddy's little girl.  She is going to be right there alongside daddy, hiking and fishing and all kinds of boy stuff.  Now we need to know where to send the baby gifts.
