November 20, 20214 yr @MLMR, you and I both know that you have it in you to quit for good. Go back to basics and do what you did to get your one year quit in and then keep doing it. Stick close to us and post if you feel you need some extra support, that's what we're here for. I just really wish you would believe in yourself as much as we believe in you 🤗
November 20, 20214 yr @MLMR I feel it everyday, it still calls to me everyday. I still can't accept that I have not smoked in 5 months. I want it but am still trying to accept that I don't need it. It would be so much easier just to stop fighting and do what I want. I tell myself that I am just stupid. There are so many people that have to struggle to have a roof over their heads, to feed their children. I can't help to think that I am blessed not to have those issues. We can have it all, our health, more money and maybe we can help others. What greater blessing can we give than to help others because of our success. You have shown you can do this, you have the strength, just like Jillar said. I know if I am in trouble I will come here first. I will be okay and so you will.
November 21, 20214 yr Sorry to hear you lost your quit, @MLMR It is so hard. I suffer from severe anxiety, too, and it’s hard to deny myself the pleasure of the occasional cigarette to “calm my nerves”, or to just take a break from the madness in my own head. One trick I’ve learned is to remind myself that nicotine is chemically a stimulant, and that’s the last thing someone with anxiety needs. It helps my resolve to stay quit. I have an extremely logical mind, so that simple logical deduction works for me. Try it. The other thing that helps is my own tenacious nature. If I set a goal for myself, I will achieve it or die trying. It helps to be so stubborn. Find out what works for you, and please reach out the next time you are tempted to light up. Welcome back! Kat
November 21, 20214 yr Sweetheart.... Sorry to hear you have smoked .... You know ....Your a strong lady ....you are in charge .....if you want this ...you can do it .... Tomorrow is a new day ...a new start ...if you want it .... We will support you every step of the way .... Come on ....take your seat ....it's waiting ....👍
November 22, 20214 yr Author Monday morning, the start of day 2. Yesterday went well. No major cravings and I took it easy. I’ve sort of accepted that this stage is where I’m at now. The only thing that will determine my succes, is whether or not I light up.. 🤷♀️ Everything else is temporary. (While writing this, I’m very aware that one of these days my addicted mind will mess with me again). Edited November 22, 20214 yr by MLMR
November 22, 20214 yr You have started and completed the first day. Day 2, you are letting your mind think you will fail. That is why sometimes I do not listen to my brain, I still feel the draw, the desire everyday. It is enough to make you crazy. You have done this hard part before and you can do it again. You have to have faith and love for yourself. You are the person that will save you on this one. You will have lots of support here, you can do this one day at a time. You know you can and we know it too!
November 22, 20214 yr Good for you ML.... You know you have my support ...and I know you can do this ... Our minds can be our worst enemies sometimes ......don't over think ... One day at time ...
November 22, 20214 yr Author Doing ok here. Peeking once in a while, and I noped this morning. Back on track, yay 🤪🥳
November 23, 20214 yr Author Tuesday morning, day 3. Got a long day ahead of me and I think I need to be in time with self care. 🩹 Things to do, when a crave hits me: * take a walk around the building * find a quiet place somewhere and take five deep breaths * try to realize that this crave changes nothing about your longing to be free from nicotine * Take the leap and trust in the simple passing of time! * drink cold water or tea Pfiew. Let’s do this.
November 23, 20214 yr I must say I worried myself sick last night about you. I knew you had done well in your quit and had a slip. I did not want to believe it happened. If it could happen to you, it could happen to me. It freaked me out. I do not have the resolve or strength to go through this again. If I relapse I will smoke until I die. I do not want that and I know you do not want it either. We are all going to die but I want to be peaceful in my own bed with my pups beside me. We deserve the best of all things but the truth is we have to get those things for ourselves, there is not an easy way. We have to keep doing our best in all things. It is okay for us to throw a fit, to have a good cry when needed. Just do not smoke, come here for help!!
November 23, 20214 yr Good Morning or Good Night Gus. I have not gone to bed yet and think you may also be having a sleepless night. If I remember right you may work in a school district and are off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Even when I was working i l took vacation at this time as my son was out of school. I hope you are doing well!! K

November 23, 20214 yr He paid for the biscuit. I paid for the other stuff. (in my dreams) Just go with it Linda, it is my dream! They say you should alwqys make a list to ask the doctor when you see them, could you put this on your list. Why does my middle dog have gas? Thanks
November 23, 20214 yr Author Hi @Kris, thanks for your honest reply and I’m sorry you were worrying last night. I truly hope you can find a way to strengthen your resolve because of this. You are still in your first year and I remember well how scary it was back then to see people give up there quit, especially those who had quite some time under their belt. Please know - it’s been a matter of neglecting myself. I gradually got complacent, allowed some junkie thinking patterns back in. And then, when one thing after another happened, I gave in. It was preventable! Ugh. You are right - I did well in my quit. Untill I didn’t. I try to see these as two seperate things: the well-doing doesn’t change because of the relapse and the relapse is a relapse, no matter how ‘well’ I did. I hope your next night will be a bit less worrisome 😊
November 23, 20214 yr 7 hours ago, Kris said: I hope you are doing well!! Hello Kris! I was just having my morning coffee when you posted earlier. I’m only off Thursday and Friday, but that’s enough! I hope that you slept well!

November 24, 20214 yr Author Wednesday morning, day 4. I’m glad the first three days are behind me. They went surprisingly well. Four weeks ago I started light therapy again and I’m finally experiencing some effects. Hurray hurrah, for fake sunlight 😊 Only two more days of work and then I’ll be having a week off. It’ll be a good time to take a step back and review the past 1,5 years.. I’ve said way too many goodbyes. I want more hello’s in my life. Maybe start by welcoming the person I see in the mirror every day? 🙋♀️
