July 1, 20188 yr Canada Day is kind of strange here as there's no real protocol to follow. It's just looked at as another long summer weekend which are a prized commodity here due to weather issues most other times of the year. Most just get laid back and relax or maybe do a BBQ. There are fireworks but it's way more prevalent these days then when I was a kid. It's not like in the USA that's for sure. Years ago fireworks were reserved for only Victoria Day which is a celebration of Queen Victoria's BD in late May. See, we do still care about your Brits ?
