  10. It is absolutely back to square one. I smoked 3 packs a day as well. If I smoked a cigarette today then my quit date would absolutely change, because this is an addiction and I am an addict. We all are. If you went to AA and collected chips for sobriety then had just one drink, you would be back to square one, this is no different.
  11. Back to square one. This saying helped me in my weak times, copy it and post it wherever you can. I had sticky notes all over the house. "IF YOU HAVE JUST ONE CIGARETTE, YOU'LL BE BACK WHERE YOU STARTED. WHERE YOU STARTED WAS DESPERATELY WISHING YOU WERE WHERE YOU ARE TODAY"
  12. You're right, you don't My trick was to look at my quit date... in your case, you have 10 days, remember how you felt on day one? I am sure that you wished you were 10 days out at that point. It would be ludicrous to throw that hard fought time away just to start over, right? There is a saying that I always looked to when I was feeling weak in my quit. I had it copied all over the place to remind myself. Here it is: "IF YOU HAVE JUST ONE CIGARETTE, YOU'LL BE BACK WHERE YOU STARTED. WHERE YOU STARTED WAS DESPERATELY WISHING YOU WERE WHERE YOU ARE TODAY"

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
