I did get a few recipes from the Keto Diet Plan online, but I haven't as yet followed any diet plan, I have just used the ideas, got my new shopping list done, and cut out bread and cakes, which is still difficult for me because my rewards were a cake and coffee outing. I am enjoying it now, but the first day or so was misery. My aim is the same as yours at the moment, to cut out cakes and bread which are both high in carb content, and includes sweetness together with the carbs. I will experiment further in a weeks time. Its the shopping that did it I bought only some of the ingredients in the Keto diet, but follow my own agenda for now. I can give you the ingredients for snacks and some ideas to start your shopping list off if you like, but like I said its not a strict diet which has never worked for me really.

Exactly because its just what people did in those days, just like your daughter says the knowledge wasn't there, but it doesn't mean they are stupid.or dumb. Some people (even young people) have images of their heros in there head depending on what they watch in Life or TV. My own personal image of a role model (at a young age) was in the musicals if I was watching TV. I didn't follow sport much but the Tobacco Companies had a ball in the advertising of Cigarettes at Football Stadiums. How many role models did you see then running past a huge advertisement for smoking. This does influence our young or even older people. If it didn't then they would continue to advertise in every big football game in Australia, which has big bucks involved. People like me who don't follow the sporting community either Live or on TV wouldn't care what they did for promotion, but some people would get mighty mad at draping the fences with Ads instead of their favorite football bannners.

I have lost 2 kgs since Boxing Day. I have also started more exercises they are now up to 3/4 hour most days instead of 30 mins.

I am so lucky, a close call but nothing so devastating as their losses. The forecast for this weekend is one feared by everyone in Australia at the moment. I don't think I have seen or heard anything quite so bad as these numerous outbreaks before.

Victoria is having what we had in NSW Freak Hot Winds and instant break out of fires. I have 2 brothers and a son in Victoria, All ok. Other friends in Gippsland lost their homes, but not their lives. The NSW fires are a good distance from me this time. - Eight fires burning at watch and act level in NSW - Seven fires burning at emergency level in Victoria -Father and son confirmed dead in NSW south coast town and fears for another man - Dozens of homes and a school lost in towns of Buchan and Sarsfield in Victoria

For what its worth, my thoughts would go something like this...1. You remember the experience not the act. 2. You were aware of the hand to mouth, and sucking in the air with the gunk into your lungs. You were not romancing the cigarette because at that stage you were not in love with the addictive substance,, you were definitely romancing the first moment when you experimented like the realization you had some sense of control over your life, little did you know that the moment the gunk entered your blood stream, that all the moments after was the monster calling you back as you said in the hope of finding that raw experience again and again, How do I know this! because it happened to me when my belief was the wrong way round.

This is my first Christmas without Cigarettes, I feel very proud of myself because there was 3 people who went outside on the verandah to smoke. I didn't get the urge to follow, but I did reflect with some nostalgia but kept busy at the time. Later on I went out with the other smokers, and told them this was my first year without cigarettes at Christmas. I think they were happy for me, no one encouraged me to join them which they would have done in the past. I also had visitors stay over who smoked too. This wasn't too difficult because I was at home. Some discussions on smoking or not smoking ensued and let them know about the information on forums to look up. I gave a luncheon on Boxing day, which went extremely well.. For two days had a ball. Lots food singing and dancing. Started on new eating programme today. Best Christmas Present was clear skies and moderate temperatures.

Great Farmgirl, the 2nd Christmas without smokes, I bet you had a good one with all the money saved. Congratulations on 2 years.
