  1. Oh Reci, please do.
  2. Wow. What a party. Thank you all for celebrating with me and wishing me well. In the beginning it seemed like a long road and I would never get to this day. Towards the end, I knew I would make it and it was just around the corner. Newbies, know that you can get there too. I smoked for 42 years and never felt quitting was going to happen. Educate yourself, listen to these wonderful supporters and change your life for the better. I am not that person that started this journey. I am a much stronger, happier person. Smoking is no longer a thought. I can't believe I wasted so many years doing it.
  3. Queen B, that is exactly how I felt. Once I got through the tough month, I could feel my quit grow daily. The further away from it I got, I knew that I never wanted to go back. Looking forward, I could see a much happier, free life and a new me. You go girl, you have got this quit won. I am thrilled to be able to watch you grow throughout your journey!
  4. Wonderful and free. I know smoking is a thing of my past and will NOT be a part of my future! You will get there @QueenB.
  5. Okay, now you all have me crying. Of course they are tears of joy. When I first logged onto this site, I was at a very low point in my life. I had no idea I was going to meet such special people, from around the globe, who knew I had the strength to make it to this point. You all have bought out the best in me and I thank you. @MLMR, you are right behind me and I will be there to help you celebrate. Don't give up on that cup of coffee. I am going to enjoy my golden years travelling and from what I hear, the Netherlands is the place to go - everything is legal!!!!! @QueenB, I will be there with you through your journey. You are doing great. @Rozuki, @notsmokinjo, @WeegieWoman and @Doreensfree, you all have been my inspiration. Doreen, I love my gifts. Know that I plan on being around for a long time. You all have saved my life and I will always hold you in my heart! Linda
  6. Nope I am so proud today is my 365th Nope.
  7. It is 10:45 p.m. - I am counting the minutes down.
  8. #2 because they are probably suede.
  9. Love hearing about those long lasting quits. Congrats on 4 years. I am bent on following your example.
  10. Think I saw a group setting sail this morning. They are a bit early but maybe they are the welcoming committee!
  11. Reci is right. Always thought I was going to marry my high school sweetheart but he decided to become a sailor in the Navy and dumped me. It was heartbreaking at the time but made it possible to meet my husband who turned out to be Mr. Right. By the way, I met my husband when my first car, a red VW Beetle caught fire and he came to my aid.
  12. You got that right Jo. Okay I find this game a little tough. #1 My first car was a VW Beetle #2 I was a candy striper at a hospital (that is striper not stripper) #3 My husband was my first and only love
  13. So sorry to hear you relapsed but you are here and ready to quit. When you feel you are going to cave into a crave you should post an SOS. We are here to help you through those tough moments. It really does help to stay close to the forum while you are in you early quit. I found that pledging to NOPE (Not one puff ever), helped solidify my quit.
  14. Nope for me!
  15. OMG Sazerac, that is too funny.
  16. Mee replied to MLMR's topic in Off The Record
MLMR, you have come a long way. You recognize that roommate and have take the necessary steps to deal with him and to top that, you have quit smoking. You are a super hero!
  17. That is news to really snort about. Congrats Reci!
  18. Nope for me!
  19. Michelle, I smoked for 42 years. The hating and disrespecting myself came the longer that I smoked. I was embarrassed and ashamed that I could not quit. I never thought I had the power to do so. The power is within you and the support is here. You need to be willing to embrace that fact that you will not smoke again and reach out when you think you will.
  20. Do you think you can find a good cook and some good dancers
  21. Oh Michelle, I am so sorry to hear you have relapsed again. We are here for you but you don't even seem to reach out with an SOS. Your behavior is more like the drug addict. As long as you are isolated and don't have the means to get out, you are willing to attempt quitting. Knowing you are getting out, you are planning your next fix. That definitely is junkie thinking. I truly think you want to quit but you are not ready to commit. I think the first thing you should do, this quit, is go and read @hellkatbaby post from yesterday. It is the shocking reality of where this addiction will lead you. You can do this.
  22. Nope! I am smoke free!
  23. I say #2 because I know our dear friend would have enough people who would bail her out.
