  1. Congratulations on 9 years. You are an example of how it can be done.
  2. I had a smoking dream a couple years ago and remember thinking why I am I doing this? Realized it was a dream and woke up relieved. It has only happened that one time so perhaps they will subside. just remember thinking in my dream "why am I doing this"?
  3. Congratulations on the milestone. You got this and keep at it. Best wishes.
  4. Hang tough in there Linda. You have come so far to let go now. all will be better shortly and you will still have the quit. Better times are ahead. Try to think positive and I know that is easier said than done from my own situation. I tell myself most everyday to look for that silver lining and it is not always that simple but hang in there. It is worth it. best wishes.
  5. Scorcher here also. Do my walking around 5:30 a.m. Your right the S.O.S. and NOPE pledge are life savers and this site has tons of support and great people.
  6. Congratulations Nancy and thank you for all you do and inspire us.
  7. Way to go Robbie! Congratulations on the 3 month mark. You got this and just keep and enjoy it. best wishes.
  8. Way to go Kate! If there is a next time, you will be stronger for this. Sort of blessings in disguise.
  9. Stay strong and try to relax. you`ve come to far to go back because you will only regret it. I would see the doctor as soon as possible for solutions. you don`t want to smoke Kate18. take a chance and reach out to your children. Hang in there. Your tougher than this. Best wishes.
  10. Similar to Chris` post. Health concerns at the top of the list. Tired of finding a place to smoke when I`m out of the house. Realizing that most of my friends that smoke have quit. The price keeps going up and what a waste of money. Putting that money to better use by just looking around my community and church. . Thinking back about some of the really tough things I`ve been through by choice and realizing I have the power to do this. As chris said "You draw the line". It is over and that is that. Thanks to all here.
  11. Still here and plan to be as long as allowed. No craves anymore and seldom think about it but watchful and realize I am an ex-addict and it has to be NOPE forever.
  12. Welcome Anne. You will find support here for your decision to quit the smokes. It is different for everyone but none of us that have "made it have any special gift. Just want it bad enough to stick to it. Post S.O.S. if things get too tough before lighting up. Craves come and go but for me at least the more I beat them back the easier things became next time. Keep busy and positive. Think of yourself as a non-smoker because after all that is what you are and what you want. See yourself that way and ask for help in any way that suits you. Best wishes. Hope to see you hanging around and kicking this down the road for once and all.
  13. Way to get it done Robbie! 80 days is a something to be proud of. Keep it up. Your on your way.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
