  5. I’m no doctor either, but I’m gonna go out on a limb and recommend against the chewing off of appendages. You may want a second opinion...
  6. Welcome @stzr500! And belated Happy Quitaversary!
  7. Welcome! I have quit quit a few times before, so know where you’re coming from. I know this is the last one. Here’s what I leaned... Its a 3 part trick to keeping quit. The first part is obvious...NTAP (Never Take Another Puff)! 2). Educate yourself about your addiction. There’s a ton of info here. Look on WhyQuit.com. Take the free course at quitsmokingonline.com. Search for the free PDF of Allen Carr’s book. Read. The more you know about what nicotine does to your body and brain when you smoke, and when you quit, the better prepared you are to deal with it. 3). Communicate with your support system. In real life or online or both. People care, and want to help you keep your quit. Go look in the SOS forum and see how every one comes running when someone’s in trouble with their quit. Promise to post and respond before you buy smokes or take a puff. You can do it. We’ll help!
  8. Watching Caps-Leafs. Playing outdoors at the USNA. I was expecting a better game...
  9. I bought the nice iPad Pro that I’m communicating with you fine folks with, completely purchased with “found money” funded by my quit! ?
  10. Can you share?!? ?
  11. The same mindset used to deal with one addiction can be used for others. It’s a general wisdom, and universally applicable. Great at job of applying what you learned to help a friend.
  12. Looks like many of us washing ashore here! Glad you made it!

  14. I “borrowed” this from a friend: “It really helped me to change the story I told myself about smoking. I'm an adult, I CAN smoke. I CAN go pick up a pack and start smoking again anytime I like. I'm not some child that's been given a list of rules and grounded from my toys. The truth is I CHOOSE not to smoke today. I DON'T WANT TO SMOKE.”
  15. Well, the day’s almost over for me, but just found the QuitTrain, so hope I’ll be excused. NOPE!
  16. Hi Ela!!! Glad you found your way here too!
  17. Hey there Fab!
