Hi Linda, good to see you You so got this girl!
-
Welcome blur, when I decided it was time to quit I stopped smoking in my usual places so that I wouldn't associate them with smoking when I was in that area. I also told myself repeatedly that all (good?) things must come to an end. I have outgrown cigarettes just like many other things we outgrow. I joined my first forum at three weeks quit also and I'm convinced that this is the reason I've succeeded. Posting, supporting, celebrating milestones and socializing really helped keep my mind off my misery and I met great people from all over the world No one knows better than us what we go through when quitting this nasty habit so stay close and maybe even consider taking the one year pledge, and let's get you quit

Great costumes jo

The crave will pass Linda, eat whatever junk food your body is craving. You can worry about the weight later. Let your body dictate what it needs to try to fix all the bad we did by smoking. If you're hungry, eat. Tired, sleep. Etc.... You got this girl, 19 days quit is AWESOME!

How you doing Linda? You still with us?

You're doing great Linda and I know you want to keep your awesome quit because you posted. I was a 35 year smoker so I know how you feel but I promise you it will get so much better. One thing I did to help me with the bad cravings was using my air cigarette. I just pretended I was holding an actual cigarette in my hand and then went through the motions of "smoking" it. It worked great at tricking my mind into thinking I was getting the real thing. Maybe try that?

Hi Dan, congrats on quitting tomorrow If you get a chance why not introduce yourself to the board either in the introduction forum or the main board. We have lots of great members here who would be happy to be your quit buddy, myself included

Interesting that you brought this up as I was just thinking the same after watching the nuggets video. That video could apply to every addiction it seems. I've always heard that quitting cigarettes is as hard or harder that kicking heroin. The problem is that having never had another addiction it's impossible to know if this is true. I would imagine though from having alcoholics in my family that it really is one day at a time and always vigilant

I remember those days, minus the rain because it NEVER rains here!

Hi niecie! It's great to see you here. These guys are great so I'm sure you'll settle in fine

We have volunteers here to @notsmokinjo. And there again I say, deep respect from me for them risking their lives, unpaid, to fight fires

Hubby rode his vintage Schwinn down to the neighbor's for a visit so imagine my surprise when I see a guy in a brown shirt, shorts and ballcap riding hubby's bike up the street. I immediately call hubby who confirms that he was in the neighbor's backyard and came out front to his bike missing ? So wonder woman here tells hubby "I'm on it" and frantically gather my keys and sunglasses to go chase down the perpetrator when hubby says, "JUST JOKING" that's Larry's nephew riding it. And now you know why I drink lol

I'll be thinking positive thoughts for your brave brother who chose such a selfless career. I have deep respect for our hard-working firefighters.

The anticipation is way worse remember jo? Besides you already passed that hurdle so I'm sure you'll be fine. If not, save it for tomorrow and make sure you have birdie help!

No @notsmokinjo it's not whipped cream. It's just cream, it comes in powdered or liquid form and it's put in teas coffees, lattes, even some recipes.
