  17. My motivation was my new Dr telling me if I didn't quit smoking I'd be dead in ten to twelve years and on oxygen ? My junkie mind even did the math thinking in 10 years I'd be 62 around the age my dad died so it must be my legacy. He was so thrilled to hear I quit and how clear my lungs sound I actually really like him now. So even if I am dead in ten to twelve years at least, hopefully, I won't need oxygen.

  19. It's totally normal jetblack. I always craved a cig more when good things happened then bad. Just be proud of yourself for not smoking. And congrats on getting those people out of your life...
  20. Awesome Linda, that's a nice pic Maybe @BKP can talk you through the ticker now
  21. Hi Jackie, when we quit our bodies start right away trying to repair all the damage we did to it by smoking. So it makes sense that we are tired when we first quit. Our bodies need our energy. Be kind to yourself. Let your body dictate what it needs to help it heal. If it's hungry, eat. Tired, sleep. I don't know how many days I said the heck with it and just went to bed hoping tomorrow would be just a little better. You're doing great
  22. Hey Linda, hopefully by now you're feeling a little better and these fine folks were able to help you realize what you are going through is completely normal. Don't worry about biting anyone's head off, unless you do it literally, then you might have to worry lol. But seriously some of us in our early quits got angry some of us cried over spilt milk. It's totally normal. One thing that really helped me in my first months was my JAC, jillars air cigarette, I just pretended I was holding an actual cigarette in my fingers and then went through the motions of "smoking" it. I might have looked stupid doing it but it really worked in tricking my mind into thinking it was getting its fix. Some members have used cut straws, pens, etc. Maybe you can give that a try? About your profile pic and ticker, I think a moderator can help you with that. You're doing great Linda, be super proud of yourself!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
