    Failed

Also make a note of what did and what didn't work this time. So in a few days when you quit again you will be prepared for what will be thrown at you. Only you can make the choice to put a smoke in your mouth, light it and smoke it and only you can make the choice not to.
  9. ^^^ Oh but which tartan is it.... is it I nice one or a cack one??? OK... hmmm ..... 1. My nephew (10) has a 2 week suspension from the school footy team and a 1 week of lunch time detentions for making "hand signals" to the coach. 2. My 6'4" tall little brother had to scream like a girl to get his wife out of bed in the middle of the night to save him from the crazy cat in the toilet. 3. My niece has 53 pet fish that live in the house.
  10. Cracker Jack
  11. Congratulations @CAquitter for your 3 months of being smoke free. So it is now official, your are 25% of your way to the Lido Deck. Your quit is looking nice, settled and strong. You should be so proud at how far you have come since the first few days of your quit. 3 months is a huge achievements.May sure you do something special to celebrate your new status as a 25%er because all your hard work deserves it. It is compulsory that anyone reaching 3 months get themselves a special treat.

  16. Just say Christine... you have quit, you have been quit for nearly 3 days.
  17. I was exactly the same... it was my one driving thought and being an insomniac I got at most 3 hours respite a night when i slept. We're not just spinning you a line, it gets better and its like Jillar just said, one morning you wake up and about an hour or so after you've been up it suddenly registered you haven't thought about a smoke. Its all a lot newer and closer for me than it is for Boo and Jillar but let me tell you it really, truely does get easier. I've only been quit for 6 months but sweetie I have had way more good days than horror days... way more and its not that I don't still get the occasional crave, or thought or ah stuff moment where I think I'll just go get a smoke... because i do, but they are fewer and further between and way less demanding. So as Boo says.. short term struggle and drama.... long term benefit. I know in the early days the old phartes would tell me it gets better and I'd think when... when I changed my thinking to be it'll be better tomorrow, it'll be better tomorrow it suddenly was.. each day is better than the last until I'm not sure how much better it can get most days.
  18. ^^ proud.... and there is nothing wrong with feeling proud...
  19. A night time cold and flu tablet can take the edge of and help you sleep in the early stages of the quit. Not even 1.... part of the battle is won.... now tell my 5 things about not having one... how will that make you feel... I am tipping one of them needs to start with a P
  20. What she said, but not too pleasant and not involving V for Vendetta or a bowl of icecream yeah?
  21. Get writing chooky, that's what you can do.... 10 and 5..... thats the task.
  22. You are better than that.... just write an entire page of random thoughts.... write a letter to yourself about how you will feel if you give up. HAVE A PIECE OF NRT GUM .... i get the don't want to have too many... but you know what if you need it have it.... I did.... and I kept having them until I knew I was in the head space not to. You so have this. Don't toss it away... writing helps, here is a little writing activity for you.... I want you to write down and post 10 ways buying smokes and having one will help you. The I want you to write down 5, only 5 ways fighting the urge and not having one will help. post both lists....
  23. Only if its wrong that I am impressed also don't ya think? Oh I might post mine in confession later today because don't you think I enjoy sharing the shockage?
  24. I do think jillar has it. Because unless Shane had said "it took a while to 'clean' up cos little shane rather enjoyed the experience and I had to take care of business" there was no way that story, while funny and a little embarassing, was winning. Don't ya think?
  25. yes, yes you should, do you want to be know as a squelcher? I think for pure shock value and spitting of the coffee mine might win but.... I'm not in the competition and for life experience alone Jillar deserves to win.. I have like a gazillion questions?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
