  4. Hi and welcome aboard.. Congratulations for the great decision to take back your life from this killer addiction.... There a lot of ex smokers here ,who smoked for decades...52 years here.. Educate yourself...thisnwill be your tool ,to fight the beast... Take our daily pledge...it starts of your day with a promise., you wont take one puff that day... You can do it...all yfou need is the desire to be free...
  5. Wise words from your Mum...don't wait until all the nasty illness rear thier ugly heads.....I was lucky...very lucky.... I wish I had quit years ago...but I didn't have the knowledge...
  6. I love this post ...I'm not going to be a party pooper...but I'm going to point out WHY you all keep your quits...and you make plans for the future... My hub has end stage emphysema... Amonst heaps of other stuff... He smoked till he couldn't pull on a cig any more... I am one of his carers....he struggles to breath...oxygen is in and out of our lives....we carnt make plans together... This is why I stay around this fabulous place..is to make folks truly understand ,what can happen if you don't quit.... Carry on !!!!

  13. I faced...quit smoking or possible amputation... For me to relape ..would be me saying...goodbye feet...you and I are to parted .... Yes quitting can be uncomfortable.... But how uncomfortable is spending what time you have left ,knowing you chose between a smoke or your feet... Somethings are just worth fighting for...... Freedom !!!!!!

  15. This is so true...you have to witness emphysema first hand ,to acknowledge just how much this illness cripples you ....very slowly over years...
  16. Before this sticky quit ,I had so many relapses ..impossible to count over a 52 year smoking career... If I smoked now ..after nearly five years Quit..I know if I had one...I would be a smoker again...I'm a addict...I can never have one.. Never take another puff...but to be honest.. The thought of smoking now fills me with disgust...I hate them... When I took my first puff at eleven years old...what did I know about addiction......... Nilch....... Knowledge....now I have the knowledge...I know about addiction... NOPE !!!
