  1. Look at you MD! You're sporting double digits now at 10 months quit!! Fabulous work. Be sure to reward yourself. Maybe some new cruise wear for your grand entrance to the Lido Deck that's only 2 months away?
  2. Congrats Berk! 2 Months smoke free already and still going. You're really building a great quit there and I bet you're realizing a lot of the quit benefits by now. Celebrate the milestone then keep pushing forward. Doing great
  3. I went for a massage today but fell asleep right away!
  4. Yes Kate! You're doing great! It's very early on in your quit and the quit symptoms are often overwhelming at times. That coupled with the normal day to day sh*t life throws at us tests our resolve - no question about it but, smoking wouldn't help. You know that if you really think about it. Having one now would just destroy all the hard work you have put in so far. You would feel terrible about that after the first puff. That would only add to your problems. Be proud of how far you have come because it's no piece of cake this quitting. All that other stuff going on in your life will happen anyway. This quitting thing ........ you and you alone control. Be proud that you have made all the right choices this past week
  5. Lots of support from newbies here Steve. People more or less in the same position as you. They have very recently gone through what you are going through right now. They speak from recent experience when they tell you it will get better. Keep fighting Steve. Only better days ahead.
  6. Sorry to hear times are tough at the moment Jo Do what ya feel you have to do but I agree with what other's have said that it's good to just have a place to go where you know you'll be accepted as you are and especially in difficult days. Hold on to that quit for dear life, now more than ever. That's one shining star in your dark sky at the moment. Keep it and protect it with your life You'll be OK. Things change. They always do.

  16. I've nothing meaningful to add Steve that hasn't already been said. Just wanted to let you know I'm here too lending my support while you fight the good fight against this addiction. It WILL get better Steve. Hang in there no matter what and you too will see the other side

  18. Congrats on your 2nd year milestone smoke free Boo. I remember well your Lido Deck arrival last year. Now THAT was a party Glad to see you're keepin in shape and getting in lots of river time
  19. Fantastic job Sslip! 2 Months smoke free is a great achievement. You've battled that Nicodemon like a real star Show him the old Rope-a-Dope Sslip. You'll win in the end!
  20. Good to see you are doing well Doug! Your plan to see a new Dr. sounds great. Can;t hurt to talk at the very least. Glad to see you are already looking at the positives of not smoking too (more money for your hobby job). That really helps the mindset needed to get through the early days. Keep up the Great Work
  21. Hang in there Geetar! This quitting thing is rough at times. It WILL get better but you have to stick with the program completely. Your observations above are correct. You don't want to trade your future for 1 smoke which, by the way, you would regret almost immediately. You have 5 hard days invested in your quit, Make sure they count for something!! Look at it as an investment in your future good health and happiness
  22. 20!! Great work (again) guys!!
  23. 18 Yes, actually I do
  24. So glad to see you again Berk!! Been awhile. Your 2 month anniversary is close too

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
