  4. Personal commitment Sierra! Make an absolute pact with yourself that smoking is no longer an option. It's completely off the table and the only path forward is one of abstinence from cigarettes and vape! We have all had to do the heavy lifting in breaking free and you will need to do the same. We are here to lend support and advice to help you along though and we are happy to do that!

  7. Yes! Pledging your NOPE to not only yourself but to others as well helps keep you focused each day and ..... that's all you need to worry about - today! Tomorrow and the day after will come regardless. Don't worry about them until they are here

  9. Getting extremely agitated on long flights and needing to run to the nearest exit as soon as I landed. You'd better not be in my way as I bolted for the exit
  10. Welcome and good for you! Knowing what was your undoing last time is key to making this one life long. If you quit before you know the drill so let's get this done! Joining a group like this is surprisingly helpful, as I found out a little over a year ago. Participate often and educate yourself about this addiction. Quitting with patches is fine if it works for you. The only rule in this quitting process is to never take another puff; which you have already identified. Welcome aboard. Be sure to post up your NOPE every day on the NOPE page!

  13. There are so many small benefits to quitting that we don't even think about until we are well along in our quit process. Great that you are focusing on the positives Those positives just keep multiplying along the way too!

  17. The cost (financially) to smoke these days is crazy! How can people in Australia even afford to smoke?

  20. Sorry you're not sleeping well. It's not unusual in the early days of your quit. Have you eliminated caffeine from your diet? If not try that, it may help. Drink fruit juice too, It helps with your blood sugar levels which may help your sleep pattern. In any case, the sleep issue won;t last forever. Quitting smoking is worth dealing with some temporary inconveniences

  22. 8 Months smoke free is fantastic Kermit! Be sure to celebrate your achievement
  23. Be patient LT You're not quite a month into your quit yet so those cravings and urges to smoke are normal and you found a way to say NO to them today as you have in the past and will again when they come calling. The thing is, they will come calling less frequently and those calls will get weaker and weaker as you forge ahead. Doing great so just keep it up and always say NOPE!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
