  8. We can't change decisions we made in the past. All we can do is make better decisions today and .... you have done that by committing to a smoke free future
  9. Yes, quit now. Why wait? You've done it before so you can do it again. No matter what life throws at us, smoking only makes things worst, not better. Don't delay. Come back to a community of support and make a positive change in your life. Hope to see you around soon
  10. I'm sorry to hear all the struggles you are facing. I am glad you got through this because of what you know in your heart about this addiction and from the support of those you know from this board. Good call on posting here! I am also super impressed that so many peeps you know from your time on this board came running to your side in your moment of frustration and doubt - damn this is such an awesome place
  11. If the Step #1 patches are a problem maybe try to go back to the place you got them and discuss with them? They may have some suggestions for you including advise about starting with a lower dose patch. Just a suggestion.

  14. A toast to your 7th month smoke free Christa! Congratulations
  15. Keep a list of all the reasons you want to quit close to you all the time Lilly. On your phone or written on paper so you can pull that out and read them any time you have a smoking thought. Focusing on all the positives your are gaining by quitting and knowing that the only reason you don't already have those things is because of smoking might just help you readjust your thinking more quickly. See the positives - not the negatives
  16. Hi Jeana and welcome to Quit Train Glad to hear you have decided to take back your life by quitting this horrible addiction. The benefits you will receive from doing this are more than you imagine at this point. Read all you can about this addiction here. There are many resources including a series of videos on a separate page. Stick close to the board and let us know how you're doing as well as any concerns you might have with quit challenges you might be having. We have ALL been through it and can maybe give you some good suggestions for meeting those early challenges.. We will support you all the way to freedom!
  17. Muttering NOPE all day long is probably the best thing you can do in the early days of your quit

  21. Glad to see you are back at it and ready to make this your permanent quit. You will never regret it - I promise you.
  22. Have a great one Abby!!
  23. Go with your gut feeling on this one. Long as neither one of you hate the song, it won't matter in the grand scheme of things. Just one moment in an awesome and sometimes mind numbing day I still remember the song we had and if I had to pick it over again, I'd likely pick something different but at the same time, we have no regrets. It was an appropriate pick at that time for us.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
