  1. Hi Train Riders, I had an AWFUL dream last night that I was at a bonfire and lit up a smoke. I was back to smoking like I had never quit for the entire night. It was so stinken real feeling that I woke up about in tears, so disappointed with myself. I literally could almost taste it. Well thank goodness it was just a dream! I haven't had a smoking dream since my first week quitting. There is nothing that triggered it that I can think of (not around it, wasn't having a craving or thinking about it, etc). Craziness. Regardless, it was just a dream but made me realize what a NIGHTMARE smoking is. Don't quit quitting, EVER and have some pride in the effort you've put into your quit. Don't disappoint yourself with even trying one, even if you are at a fake bon fire inside of your own stupid/addicted/weird imagination. Have a great day all! J
  2. Hi Julian - No time is a good time to quit :) The thought is so much worse than the actual quit. Once you get in the frame of mind you will never have one again, a sudden sense of relief will come over you. You will no longer have to worry about all the things that smoking causes. One day at a time. Celebrate every little win (one day w/o smoking, go out to dinner, 2 days w/o smoking, have a pop, etc). Buy yourself something nice at the end of the week...that's a HUGE accomplishment. We are all here for you whenever you need us, no matter what you need. If you have to, scream and punch a pillow, but DO NOT light up a smoke no matter what! :) It gets easier and easier, I promise! Also - I used the patches to help me quit as well and look it now, almost 4 months smoke free and haven't looked back once! Just don't vape, unfortunately, that is a way of allowing yourself to smoke without admitting its smoking. That is also a thing I've tried in the past to sneak in I'm a non-smoker" LOL! U can do it without!
  3. Hi Jacqueline - You stole my name and the spelling! :) How are you doing over there?

  7. Hi AgaveGirl - how are you doing on your first day? The first few days can either be easiest (kind of a personal challenge, feel good about it, etc) or the hardest (hating every second, having a mental break down, etc)....either way - STICK TO IT and know you can do this no matter what that little voice in your head is telling you. I promise, it will go away!!!! When it feels like it never will...remember it does! :) Good luck to you lady!
  8. Look at you go EX!!!!! So proud of you quit buddy! :)
  9. You sound just like me Pixel...I tried to quit many times and hated it the entire time...this time around, I was ready and optimistic and so excited to be a quitter...you seem to be the same, helping others along and providing support to all. So proud of you (and me) and you are right, we got this!!!!! No matter the urge or weird craving that creeps up, we can get past it....

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
