  3. Hello beautiful Sarah ! Your post has made me so happy on a morning where I am horrified, embarrassed and very, very sad to be from the United States. You are a beautiful woman and I am so glad you have such beauty in your life.

  5. The important thing is, you are not smoking. You are embarking on a wonderful journey. You will learn more about yourself as time goes on and especially so when you put this addiction to sleep. Addiction takes over so much of a person. I thought I couldn't be 'myself' without a cheroot between my lips. I am happy to announce, I am myself and better after championing my freedom. You will be too. Don't loose sight of the prize. The benefits will astound you.
  6. Evelyn, Please check in and let us know what's happening. You are in our thoughts. S

  9. I have failed you my wonderful Sister of Smut but, you were surrounded by such adorable sticks !
  10. I am glad you are still cigarette free, sorry you started up the nicotine addiction again. You need to remember you have total control over whether you are a b*tch or not. You can blame it on addiction but, it will come back to your choice and your control over yourself. Beating addiction encouraged me to be much more culpable and responsible to myself, for myself. This is a great and encouraging part of the journey. Glad you are back. Hold to your resolve.

-2 sorry to leave you like a dangling chit, Doreen.
  12. Please use this board to your advantage. We are here for support and advise and have some fun along the way. Time is your friend. Every crave you beat is creating a new connection in your brain, a connection not associated with addiction. It is a crave you will never have again as long as you stick to NOPE. Not One Puff Ever. Stay strong and focused and reward yourself. Freedom is delicious.

  19. Nicotine has pretty much left your body Forever now, Marlene. Craves will get further and further apart while you learn to change your patterns that were all about addiction. The concept of H.A.L.T. (are you Hungry, Angry, Lonesome, Tired) was really helpful to me to understand what my body was really trying to tell me. This thread, Riffing on Halt may be helpful to you and also this one from Babs about H.A.L.T too. I am so happy you have quit.
  20. I am so glad that you are still smoke free, Tiffany. Congratulations. I hope you realize this is a big deal and you are going to go through some changes for a long time. Not necessarily craves or triggers but, changes associated with stopping an addiction and changing patterns associated with the addiction. Cigarettes changed our DNA fgs. These changes and thoughts are not to be feared, they are signals for you to pay attention and stay quit. Complacency is dangerous. Protect your quit and remember to have fun.

-11 nothing to spare yet but the first gully washer in a very very long time. Nancy mentioned it was really bad up in y'all's neighborhood, Autumn leaves turning brown and dropping early, not a big show of healthy color.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
