  1. Here is a thread to help you negotiate around QTrain First, introduce yourself HERE. If we already know you or, even if we don't start a new thread about smoking/not smoking, Here in Quit Smoking Discussions If your post is not about smoking, post in our Social Section. Post here for Questions/Suggestions for Administrators or Moderators or the nuts and bolts regarding QTrain. (i.e. how to post a blog, get a ticker...) If you are having SOS about smoking, post in SOS many of us will be alerted via email and will respond as quickly as possible. This has been a lifesaver to many ! and we respond as soon as we are able. Please, try not to post in the SOS thread UNLESS you have an emergency, are responding to an emergency, or have a thread about preventing an emergency. It is kind of like pulling the fire alarm as many of us receive an email and rush to the scene if we are able. So, please, keep sacred the SOS and do not post there for for non-emergency issues. You might find this thread helpful also, 10 Ways To Effectively Use This Forum To Quit Smoking We are a jolly bunch of nicotine free creatures that want to see the world smoke free, maybe we can support you in your journey, I hope you will join us.
  2. Quitting smoking, while may be challenging at times is ultimately do-able and wasn't as difficult as anticipated. I committed myself to quitting 'for a year', jumped into it as an adventure and it turned into a most rewarding one in so many ways.

  15. Really moving selections, @notsmokinjo, thank you so much. I wish the US would acknowledge our native people in such a way...in any way ffs.

  18. They know address/DOB because people signed up for discounts and free stuff as Doreen said. AARP American Association of Retired People. Yep, The Elder's discount card and a lobbying group.
  19. Tickers Your first year may have triggers/craves that you may not expect so, be aware. These, usually, are not of the same magnitude as the early days but, can still pack a punch. There are seasonal triggers, when your body has a memory of smoking and can trigger a crave. All you need to do is stick to your commitment to NOPE. Soon, all this will be a memory and you will continue to reap the benefits of quitting. Stay focused and continue your education about nicotine addiction. The more you know, the stronger your resolve.
  20. dig this @jillar
  21. Congratulations on your nearly six months of freedom, Solo ! Continue to reward yourself, nurture your quit and protect it with your life. You can believe us when we say, 'it gets better'. It gets better and better and better. I gave my quit a year, too. I thought, if I am not feeling better/free-er/different, I can always go back to smoking. That was almost six years ago ! I couldn't imagine going through that first year again and so grateful I powered through. The residuals of freedom are astounding...the self-confidence, the trust in ourselves...the benefits multiply exponentially. So, hang in there. Stay vigilant. With the skills you are learning from quitting, you will be able to apply them to other issues like weight etc. It is good to hear from you, Solo.
  22. woo hoo, Michelle ! So happy to see your NOPE.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
