    Tea

yes posh means stuck up lol in the early years tea was worth more than gold and only the high class had tea and they used to lock it up in tea chests, so anyone having tea was classed as posh or high society then tea was widely available even to the working classes :o omg said all the posh people as time went on and still to this day some people are stuck up and want to be seen differently to the working class and drink tea such as earl grey or lady grey, but some just like the taste :P Here is the origin of "earl Grey" https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCUQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FEarl_Grey_tea&ei=d8TsVM30McSmgwS4zIHYBQ&usg=AFQjCNElWha6uHXXNWaS_2irfkila7ozTA

  5. Hi Michelle and welcome to the train :) I used to chew gum after a meal and go for a walk when possible, just changing the routine seemed to help, keep moving as just sitting makes you feel the void. congratulations on your first week, read all there is on the board in the quit smoking section to educate yourself on nicotine addiction, the videos are great too, keep posting and maybe try the games in social section as a distraction.

  12. Wow thanks everybody, couldn't have it Done it without all of you, holding my hand, kicking my butt when needed. My life truly changed when I quit smoking, who would have thought, you never know where the road will lead you, it's all been so worth it, it took me 8 months to get my head around the quit, lots of learning on the way Quitting is a journey and along your journey you will face a lot of crossroads, but you inevitably are the one in the driving seat, just hang on, dig deep, keep reading and learning it does get better Thanks to all x
  13. Wow thanks for this heads up Lisa, we were feeding buddy it, we have chucked it straight out and brought blue wilderness, also a couple was buying beneful when we were there so rez alerted them and they changed brands, makes me mad they can still sell this!!!

  15. Evelyn this is proof on how far you have come, you have recognised the junkie romancing in yourself and you have posted it, this is how to beat it, to know yourself, in the past you would have just disappeared and then come back to say you are restarting. this phase will pass and you will be even stronger than before, read as much as you can to... turn off that thought that is reaching out looking for an excuse, you have been quit for nearly 2 months now and no NRT which in the beginning you thought you could not do, now look at you go

    Tea

There are a thousand ways to make tea, it's all down to personal taste Mine is tea bag, milk, sugar, then hot water Not too strong for me I am a tea weakling, leave tea bag in until it turns the desired colour Making tea is a ritual and everyone defends their own and tries to convince you their way is best I got many a bruise from my Nan when making her tea wrong, I learned quickly there is no deviating from the ritual, no short cuts, they can always tell Earl Gray is a ladies drink! Man up and experiment, let us know the results :)
  19. When someone relapses, the junkie mind can play tricks and you might think hey I will just do a do over, reset my ticker and start again Erm hello dingbat (say to oneself) you want to start from day one again really? And who is to say you can stop again Shout it down EVelyn, tell your brain no f ing way, you lying, stinking, bastards, you ain't catching me out or NOPE to be polite Go read your early posts and then read some recent ones, see the difference to where you are today that should stop the romancing x You got this quit EVelyn and you worked bloody hard to get it! Keep it, it's precious, not everybody will do it so be proud x

    Hey Aine

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
