  1. I quit a week and a day ago. The physical discomfort, that void within, starving for nicotine, is barely a whisper on the wind. I'm feeling healthier. I'm jogging, my lungs are pumping easier. It's a good place to be. I feel the romantic nostalgia for nicotine growing, but my defenses of common sense and dreams are holding steadfast. I wish you, however far you've come, to feel pride in yourself for making it this far.

  11. Or triple dip (as in my case at this moment). lol I was a member at one time coming here after QSMB went down. When NOPE 365 was hacked I saw that scattered members were seeking info here (& on another site). When it came back up I wanted those here to be made aware of it so I rejoined here to post re it (forgot my original password & name). And yes, I encourage everyone starting out to educate themselves on their nicotine addiction and to use any tools & resources available to themselves which includes being active accountable participating members of a support group(s). Whatever it takes ... . (I actually was a volunteer certified facilitator for the Amer. Lung Assoc. to teach their smoking cessation class at one time.) Coming up on 13 years FREE and I have absolutely no desire to ever go back so my pledging & everyday participation is something no longer necessary for me but it's always good to know that while I'm out living my life now that my "nests" are always (hopefully) still there if need be. Stay free everyone!

  14. Glad to hear that @Paula B., let us know if you need any help figuring things here out. Youll probably want to post any questions on the main forum and not this Nope one so more people will see it.

  18. Good job @Pilgrim! I like how you're focusing on the positive things you see even this early into your quit. Keep focused on the positives you see and don't let those nostalgic thoughts of nicotine steer you in the wrong direction. Those thoughts will grow weaker and less frequent the longer you remain quit. That I promise you

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
