My pre operation

Featured Replies

Finally...

I went off to hospital today ,for my tests to make sure I'm healthy enough to go under the knife..well

Keyhole actually...I'm fine...waiting now for my date to go in..

Need to get Tony sorted,I have to take it easy for a couple of weeks...or might get a hernia...just my luck..

I'm have never  took it easy...this will be a hard one for me...

There's no stopping the Doorbell.

Stay strong Doreen.

OK, I thought you were going under the knife right away. Glad you're getting it sorted though cuz you must be getting sick of beet root :15_yum:

I was also wondering how you would deal with recovery properly & dealing with daily hubby issues too :42_confused: That's going to be tricky.

Edited by reciprocity

If I was closer (like less than a 5 or 6 hour flight) I'd help you out!! I hope you can get it sorted without too many issues :28_hugging:

Is it for the pancreatitis? I vaguely remember you said something about an issue.

Taking it easy is just not going to be possible for people like us who always have to be moving around.  The Archers just have no concept of "take it easy". What you could do instead is planning on how to work around the "injury" until it heals to a reasonable state. Maybe slow down but for real, you will soon find yourself wanting to get up and move around, doing your normal routine.

Though this might sound smart alec or funny, it is neither.

All I am saying is, respecting the reality, it would be best to plan how you are going to do things in a more careful manner rather than being a couch potato. You know that would drive you nuts to do little or nothing.

Good luck with making arrangements Doreen! You will not be able to lift for several weeks ☹️ It will be good to get the darned thing out though despite having to take things easy for a little while. ?

Dear one,  you have to take care of yourself or you won't be able to care for Tony.  I wish I could be there to help!  Did they give you any idea when they will schedule surgery?

Me too, me too, on so many counts... I thought you were going in today too and yes, I wish I could help too!  This is a chance to pamper yourself. Don't blow it by doing too much or turning down help!   Staying tuned for the actual procedure date.

Dear One,

Sending you all strength and kindness.

Please be Kind to Yourself, bebe.

Love,

She's back!

I imagine a scenario where a proper sausage has the same effect on Doreen that spinach had on Popeye.

Again?  We never stopped!

Good luck. Are You having your gallbladder removed? If so I did 5 years ago laparoscopically and it 2 weeks to get back to normal for me as far as lifting and stuff. Everyone differs so follow orders of your doctor and refrain from straining yourself and accept any help offered.

So glad to hear that news, Doreen!  Nursey to both of you, right?!

Wow they seem to be moving fairly quickly for you Doreen - I had to wait about 8 months to have mine done!  Isn't the pre-op usually done a week before the actual op??  Or have they changed that.  Good news that Nicky will be coming home to look after you both.  I'll say good luck with the op but you won't need it, you'll be fine with just 4 little scars and a bit sore.
