Not to be out done by Doreen I found meself .... yes its a booby stick

and here's the other me on a stick.... even got the kid on board...

This is the ANZAC Stick... Long story short, The Wallaby Club, a club for walkers in Melbourne had their president sent to Gallipoli he sent back a shrub that was fashioned into the walking stick below. It is held by the club president and each year a gold ring is added with the outgoing presidents name. When they ran out of room after 100 years they went to Gallipoli to get a new stick.
