But here I am. Determined to never take another puff. No long story. Just here to kill off nicotine butt

No patches or crap. Just nope

...and you can kill off nicotine's butt, Evelyn.  That is the right attitude.

We all know that quitting can be tough but all of us will tell you that life is better as a non-smoker and that the rough early days are worth it.   Stick close to this board and reach out whenever you need help.  You can definitely do this.

Welcome back Evelyn. I sincerely hope you can make it through those tough initial quit days this time around. Learn from past failed attempts, develop that steely hard, positive mindset and go do it! We will be here to back you up :)

I'm chewing a sandwich at midnight. Having an asthma attack. And I'm still good mooded. Tough yes but nothing I can't do. Been there done it.

Smoking definitely isn't going to help your asthma...or anything else.  Keep up the good fight, Evelyn.  You are going to quit smoking for good this time.

Thanks. Today is a brand new day and I'm positive

Keep that positive, I CAN do this attitude Evelyn because you know you're gonna need it big time in the coming days. All of us on this board have gone through the same thing so you KNOW it can be done. It's not easy and nobody gets a pass on the hard times required to come out the other side as a non smoker. Just know that, grit your teeth and get through those first days. 1 hour at a time when necessary. Do it this time no matter what - no excuses; smoking's NOT an option !!

Hi Evelyn - keep going.  This first few days are so tough, but you've got the right attitude.

Hi Evelyn, welcome again. I believe in you, lets do this already. How you doing so far?

Keep at it.  The first few days are always hard.  Niet één puff ooit!

Hey Evelyn,

It's like climbing Mount Everest... No really. Basically there are two attitudes. First is omg, not that again, fear addled misery or keeping your eyes on your mission, which is to climb to the top of Mount Everest and feel the exhiliration with each accomplishment

and then reach the top, what they call promise land.

I promise it gets easier rather than harder at the top, unlike the real Mt. Everest

the choice is otherwise to choke yourself to death, to really run out of breathe before you die.

Maybe if you are lucky you get an early heart attack.

A long march starts with one step after another. prepare for the trip.

Welcome Evelyn! Congratulations on your decision to quit. You got this. Each day pledge NOPE and take it one day at a time.

This was a topic from my ignorant period - I relapsed thinking one wouldn't hurt.

Stay on the train, Evelyn and don't give in! You've got this!

"Just one" always leads to more. You've got to remember that.

It's the addiction in your brain and the ingrained habits.

Don't give up.
