Hi Alex,

Welcome Aboard! I am very glad you have found our site, and you will find a ton of support here, from member advice to so much information on the dangers of smoking, and how to quit successfully.  Quitting smoking is a journey that we all know is not an easy one, but it's definitely doable and so worth it in the end. We have quitters here from newbies, such as yourself,  all the way up to 20+ years and everything in between.

Our best advice for you in the beginning is to come on this site every day, if you can, and do the daily Nope pledge because it will keep you focused.  If you ever find yourself where you feel you are going to give in and smoke, there is an SOS section.  Since our members are from all over the world, there is usually someone around most of the time.  To help you get your mind off of smoking there is a Games section too.  The most popular game is Chicks and Sticks, go and check it out, it's a load of fun! Which I see you already found.😃

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Great choice!  It appears you have three weeks under your belt already.  That's great!   Is this your first quit, your tenth quit, or your 100th quit?!?  A little smoking history might help AND are you using NRT, meds, or going "smart" turkey?  I see you are already participating in the games here which is so much better than bonking your head against the wall!  Humor helps.  Best wishes.

Ditching this horrible addiction will reward you with freedom from slavery to smoking. You're doing the best thing for your future. Come to the site often and read, read, read all you can. Knowledge is a powerful tool while quitting!

Look forward to seeing you around often @Alexander!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
