Hi, Sandi. I am sorry that the cravings are agonizing. I can relate. I white-knuckled it through the early days of my quit, too. Some days were ok, others super sucked. It goes in waves. But if you st

Thanks everyone! Netflix binging Bloodline is helping! But keeping me up way too late lol.

You’re doing amazing Robin, you’re in the thick of it gf so I’m sure it sucks…these amazing ppl here told me, the more times you push through the cravings dwindle in intensity and frequency.  A week is HUGE. Congrats gf ❤️❤️

Thank you! I work full time, 2 teenagers.  I think coping with life without smoking is more exhausting right now.

It will definitely get easier.  The first 2 weeks are the hardest, at least that is how it was for me.

Hi robin

like others have said the first week is really the hardest - you’ve already done the hardest part! Reward yourself every day - not necessarily with things but at least by acknowledging how great you are doing.
I’m at nearly 7 weeks and although I occasionally think about smoking, it’s not really an urge now - and I am soooo happy not to be smoking!
so keep it up! We are all behind you …

Thanks Brioski! You are also going strong! I'm trying to keep flashing back to how gross and terrible I felt after having a cigarette.  And all the work trying not to reek of smoke..spray washing hands, and the hair smell ugh and then feeling embarrassed bc all that didn't even work.

Hi Folks,

I'm just having a little bit of a meltdown now!   I haven't smoked, thankfully.  I just had things going on in my life!  And, I think I am doing quite well, but I have lots of sickness, which I think is related to quitting smoking.  Anyway, I need a little support.  Thanks!! 🥰

Hey Sandi. Find that comfort zone. Shut everybody and everything out for as long as possible. Breathe and rejuvenate!

Hi Sandi. Whatever it is, no matter how challenging, you can cope without smoking. You know you can.   When you do you will have overcome another hurdle in recovery. What other coping skills are you using? Then CELEBRATE because you will be so proud of yourself! You're doing amazing!

I haven't been feeling well since last week.  horrible cough and stuffed up nose, but when I try to blow my nose nothing comes out.  I don't know what is going on with me!!  Thanks everyone! 😁  btw, I haven't smoked at all...I'm just not feeling well, but at least I haven't smoked!!! Yay!!!!!😁

Sorry that you are feeling skunky, @Sandi149. I can relate, as I’ve been ill off and on since May and am frigging tired of it! There is definitely a crummy bug going up and down the east coast. Ah well, this too shall pass. Until it does, take good care of yourself. So proud of you for not smoking.

For what it’s worth, one ritual I find soothing is to drink hot mint tea and also to use rice compress on my face. (Fill a sock with dry rice, tie it closed, warm it in the nuker, and then put it on my sinuses. Mmm.)

Hang in there!

Thanks everyone!  As I said, I'm just not feeling well. I don't know if its a bug going around, or if it's a side effect of me not smoking anymore, but honestly I don't feel well physically and whatever it is, it's having an effect on me! 😞

It could be your lung cilia waking up from being paralyzed by smoke. They are responsible for cleaning out the gunk caused by smoking.

Drink lots of water and I hope you feel better soon
