Junkie Thoughts

Recommended Posts

I had to share this splendid example of how the junkie (my) mind works.

This time my quit date is October 2. My sobriety birthday is December 2.

The thought that crossed my mind the other day went something like, "Well, it would really make it easier to celebrate both your nicotine and drinking quits on the same day wouldn't it? So why not pick up smoking again and quit on December 2 so everything can be nicely aligned?"

Sheer insanity.

that's an argument i could see myself making.  in the long run though i really want to get to a point where i'm not marking the days since i quit.  right now i need to, but ultimately i hope to get to a point where i don't really think about it which leads me to my current problem of thinking about not thinking about it which is just me thinking about it all the time.  the mind is so confusing at times...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
