Been a little slow here
intoxicated yoda replied to JustinHoot99's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
tbh i found this site a couple of weeks before i signed up. normally i wouldn't have joined a site like this but having somewhere to piss and moan about the agony of suffering from my own stupidity is therapeutic. and having people that will help and not judge my stupidity does get me emotional. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who made this site possible. -
i can't do a year....but i can do tomorrow. see yas tomorrow!! and thanks for the chat. i helped far more than you know.

the dude abides man...

thanks for the info. that's kind of what i was worried about. i'm hoping that over the next few weeks my gut will relearn to do it's job without any stimulants. in the meantime i'll keep eating the salads go sparingly on the laxatives.

thanks. @jillar i try to keep that in mind and hope it's the one that'll get me past the unceasing cravings. do you recall roughly how long it was before you actually felt like you were over it? I quit once for about 4 years but it's been 26 or 27 years since i started back again and i've no recollection of how or what i did to get through it. i only know what the trigger was to start me back which is highly unlikely to happen again.

honestly...even tho i've been quit for a few weeks, the cigs are still in control. I'm still an abstaining smoker. Most of my thoughts are dominated by the quit but that's okay. it has to be this way. my quit is a garden and right now it's full of weeds so it's going to take all my focus and effort to get all the weeds pulled. then once all the weeds are pulled it's going to take daily monitoring for new sprouts of weeds so i can dig down and find the roots. later it will take weekly monitoring for more weed sprouts so i can dig down further and get the rest of the roots. and then when i've gotten all the roots out and all the weeds are gone and there are only beautiful blooming flowers in my quit garden i still have to be vigilant in monitoring for weeds cause seeds will blow in on the wind from who knows where and they will pop up when and where i least expect them. but that is life. the garden, whatever it is be it quitting smoking or playing piano, must be tended. to do otherwise is to stop living.

Cristobal is Nine Years Smoke Free Today!!!

Congratulations!!! -
i know it's cliche but there are no right or wrong answers. there are only choices and those choices have consequences. you may not know what consequences you will face on the personal stuff going on but you do know the consequences of going for that cig. All i can do write some pithy crap and hope you it helps you find the strength to get through the struggle and maybe it means something to you that a stranger really does care about you succeeding. Good Luck

That was such a good call. i really was almost in a panic and definitely not thinking clearly. Is there a maintenance schedule you would recommend or just use as needed. I'm trying to head off any near disasters in the future.

those craving never stood a chance... -
putting this protocol into action now. will keep the board updated on progress. this has been the one issue that has brought me closer to complete collapse and ruination of my quit since i started. hopefully the games will begin soon!!

you got this my friend. it's just another weed in your quit garden. sift down through this and find all the roots and pull them out. yeah it's a struggle and your gonna get dirty but that's how gardens are made beautiful. through sweat and tears and vigilant maintenance. your success will be a sweet victory for all of us!! -
@Doreensfree thank you for welcoming me in here. i'm still trying to solve the issue at hand. Kris offered me a strategy that i think could yield some good results. unfortunately life got in the way and i'll have to wait until this evening to put it into play. i'm assuming that 40 years of using coffee and a cigarette as a poop trigger has left my colon just as confused as my emotions. here's to hopefully having a sleepless night!!

thank you so much for reaching out and offering a helping hand. you are awesome for doing that and I have no doubt you will be successful on your quit. It's good you are doing it for you. You have to do it for you and we all will benefit from your success. Cheers my friend and godspeed!!

good call. hadn't thought of trying the MOM. to late to get it tonight but 1st thing in the morning i'll give it a try. cramping up for the big elimination would be more than welcomed at this point. however, since a mod decided to not give me any shit i'm gonna let myself slide on my quit date. you can count it as you wish but i need all the momentum i can keep right now. thanks again for the suggestion. i like that strategy.

so you think 5 years from now you'll look back and say to yourself "Gee, I sure am glad I didn't quit smoking"? Now grow a spine and deal with your emergency. It's not like you can hide behind weaknesses so you might as well be strong. I mean think about how easy modern life really is...you're most difficult task in life is to stop doing something stupid. What if you had to go out and hunt for your next meal, or carry water from a spring that was a mile and half away from the house, what if you lived in a time where toilet paper wasn't a thing??? get some perspective
