I know the struggle is harsh, but none of that bargaining needs to be going on. You get that first day done, reward yourself HANDSOMELY because you’ve earned it and then you move on to day two. You’ve got this.

So obvious most people don’t even see it. 😔

I hate this happened @Kdad! Slowly killing yourself by smoking definitely isn’t going to help you or the situation though. Trash those cigarettes and let’s get you started on that forever quit.

  15. I was born on Labor Day! LOL My mom had to leave the cookout because of me. I always have a great Labor Day weekend.
  16. So true! I only reminded him that he has quit once before so we know that he can do it again if he wanted.
  17. I stayed with my youngest brother after he had surgery last week. As soon as he could grab his cigarettes he was back out the door smoking when he got home because his transport didn’t allow smoking in their vehicle. He was on crutches mind you. Up and down, in and out. By the next day when the surgical meds were out of his system and he was hurting, he was smoking in his bathroom with the vent running. Up and down, back and forth. Still on crutches. The following day when he was really hurting and couldn’t or didn’t want to understand why, he was smoking in his bed because his leg was bothering him so bad he could barely move it. When he finished a cigarette he would just drop it in a plastic cup he had left some water in. Talk about stinking?! I absolutely refused to have anything to do with that cup. He had never smoked indoors because he just didn’t like the odor in the house and then he had kids too. So it was sad to see just what the nicotine cravings reduced him to but I was also so very thankful that I am so over nicotine. I’ll never go back to being a nicotine junkie. I can’t. He asked me to go to the store and buy him a couple of packs of cigarettes before I went home on the last day and it was $16 and some change for them. I was in shock. I honestly could not afford to smoke now. I’m in Georgia.

Yeah, it’s almost impossible to get a bee to leave its hive. Now a hornets nest scares me to death. They are so ominous looking.

Yeah, the sleeplessness was the pits. I have no idea how I functioned during this time, but it seems I was curled up under blankets crying for a few weeks anyhow. Thankfully I wasn’t employed at the time. This too shall pass and brighter days are coming!
  20. Gus replied to Brioski's topic in Socializing
Awww man. I hope this is resolved favorably for the bees. The world needs every bee it can get.

We are glad that you knew where you could come and that you came! 🤗
  22. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis Bri. Not smoking will only help fight that. Per the CDC: “Managing diabetes is challenging, and smoking can make it even more so. Nicotine increases your blood sugar levels and makes them harder to handle. People with diabetes who smoke often need larger doses of insulin to keep their blood sugar close to their target levels.” ***Don’t know why I’m posting this gif other than to remind you that even if a cigarette still smells good to you(every so often it still smells good to me too) it most certainly does not look good. haha
