  5. Kate, when you feel that panic, close your eyes and breath deep. Feel how good that breath feels without the smoke attached. Think how smoking really does nothing for you. You can do this!
  6. That is the perfect description of what an addict is and that is what we all are. We all had those same issues in coming to terms with quitting smoking. I see you have made yourself a ticker and I am hoping you are finally joining us in your quit. We are here to guide you through this journey. Kate, the first couple of weeks are difficult but you can do it. Once you have gotten the nicotine out of your system, you just redirect your smoking thoughts. Keep your dad at the forefront of your thoughts. Through him you have seen the results of this addiction. Read as much as you can on this site and watch the videos. Read the emotions of others who have committed to quitting. Be sure and make your NOPE pledge everyday. It may seem silly but it works. Sweetie, you can do this!

In the bird. Nothing like bread up the Turkey's butt. Has most flavor. Buffett or sit down dinner?
  11. Over, over, over. If it is under it can just unroll to the floor! My mother is OCD. You have to fold hers to a point when you are done using it.
  12. Oh Jo, I did not realize you were dealing with such serious health issues. I will not only be praying for you, I will be praying for the wisdom of your doctor's. Get a 2nd and 3rd opinion and get a Dr. You are comfortable with. When I dealt with breast cancer, I even put a tape recorder in my pocket so I could be sure of what I was hearing. You really have to be your own advocate. Actually had a wonderful time tonight. Great food and band and it was such a thrill to celebrate my nieces happiness. She walked away from her wedding to her childhood sweetheart, a week before the event, two years ago. It was a difficult thing to do but she was right. This guy she married is wonderful. Now we are back at the hotel, enjoying a dog free evening.
  13. Specialist and sick does not sound good. Will keep you in my prayers. We are going to my nieces wedding party. She was married in New Zealand but having a party here. Couldn't take the RV cause going down in the 20s. Hotel was expensive and they still want .$30. a night for parking. Had to board 3 dogs. Very expensive wedding party!
  14. Parsley, so glad you are doing so well. We understand you are enjoying life as a non smoker! Keep checking in and keeping us up on you journey. It helps us to know that lives can be changed. Linda

Gee, I thought it was dog. We often walk our dogs over to the pharmacy around the corner. We walk past a Chinese restaurant and they always size the dogs up as we walk past the window. Needless to say, it is not where we get our chinese!

ML, you are a little behind me in the quit. I have actually been craving so much more lately. Could it be the season, heaven knows all the crazies are out this time of year. That requires patience. I have a wedding celebration this weekend and all of a sudden my outfit is tight around the waist. In the process of shopping for something to hold the gut in, I almost pulled into where I used to buy my smokes. I can blame all these inconveniences on quitting smoking but at the end of the day, it is the goal that needs to be stuck to. I have admired you through your journey. You have perfectly described so many of those emotions we experience while quitting. You and I can do this. Stay focused and strong. We can only be winners in the end.
  17. Jo, just so you know, i knew you were special right from the beginning. You are an amazing lady. Look at you - individually thanking everyone. You are kind, caring and inspirational. You really know the facts and are always giving me a history lesson. I would not be where I am today without you dear lady. I keep hoping my lido deck party will actually be a cruise to Australia!
