  1. Thanks everyone and a shout out to @jillar for also reaching the double secret Lido deck. I have been so busy lately that the date came and went before I realized it. I did get an awesome combination birthday present and 2 years quit reward for myself. A new 2018 BMW 330i
  2. You're still young, You'll easily reverse those numbers.
  3. You have it backwards. Using the numbers in your post, it would be 67% smoking 33% non-smoking
  4. You should also count the years before you started smoking as non-smoking years, not just the quit years. To give you a more accurate percentage of not-smoking years. Going by those numbers, I have 32% non-smoking and 68% smoking If you just go by years smoked and just quit I have 5%, there would never be a chance to break even.
  5. You're going to love being a non-smoker.
  6. I should probably get her name first. She is still smoking, but said she wants to quit.
  7. What he said. I had zero effects after stopping.
  8. A woman I used to see occasionally in the smoking area, but rarely ever talked to stepped onto the elevator with me today. Although I never learned her name, I did remember/recognize her, but didn't expect her to remember or recognize me as most women I meet can't seem to remember me at all (it's like I'm in some kind of stealth mode). Anyway, out of the blue she asked me how long it's been since I quit smoking. Well you could've knocked me over with a feather. That she remembered me was amazing enough but she had also noticed that I wasn't smoking anymore where even some of my close friends hadn't known until I told them. I told her I was closing in on two years and got a very flattering comment. We exchanged a few more pleasantries until she left the elevator. It was nice to get some positive reinforcement from a totally unexpected place. It made my day.
  9. You know the usual day to day stuff. Still not smoking. Inching closer to 2 years quit, although I suspect it won't be as exciting as the first year. Wondering what's above the lido deck and what's the view look like Getting one year closer to my goal of being a non-smoker longer than I was a smoker. Waiting for spring to arrive. Looking to hire an electrician to do some electrical work. Contemplating replacing the bathroom faucets. Wondering what happened to Avian When QSMB went off the air, I wasn't too inclined to join another board as I hadn't been keeping up and posting very much. But then I saw you and Jillar were here and decided to join and maybe offer the occasional nugget of advice and wisdom such as it may be.
  10. What is the official cigarette? Did the one before the official one not count towards your daily total?
  11. Being 70 days in the excitement and euphoria of the success you're having has worn off. Now on to the daily grind until your non-smoking lifestyle and mindset become the new normal.
  12. Hey stranger. Didn't know if I'd see you again.
  13. It's not odd. That became my primary motivation after the first few weeks (past the craves). I realized that I'm now free to go wherever, whenever and not be looking for a place to smoke or worry about when I can get away to have a cigarette.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
