  2. The winner is Reci... 1...True...our little team had just won against all the big fancy eastern suburbs teams for a 3-pete and I had won the association best n fairest (MVP) for the 3rd time too, playing goal keeper. 2...LIE...while I did win the competition for my age in my state with a cleched little drawing of kids in national costume holding hands around the world (hey I was 9) the reception dinner was at one office building for the company that sponsored it...it might have been ESSO...not sure anymore. Had to dress up all fancy and go out late (it was dark) at night in the city. 3...TRUE....Nippondenso gave small schoolarships each year to each of the secondary schools (state and private) each year and 1 regional full schoolarship to a year 10 each year to cover their year 11 and 12 education...which I won the big one..I got presented with it in a scholarship in their cafeteria at the plant. I only applied for it because I liked tasting tests and these wankers I hated were going for it and I wanted to beat them.
  3. Meanwhile .....down under.... ^ had me tickets to see this legend ....been waitin for months...Nek minit lockdown. And what could represent Aussie blues better than Chain who copied the American masters for 2 1/2 years then wrote this tribute to our convict past...
  4. So this duo of Sydney are usually belting out covers or parodies...but they did this one for ANZAC Day 2020....normally around Australia we would gather at dawn for a service to remember our fallen and those who have served...anyway this year we can't. @Cbdave you might like this one.
  5. Welcome, and he'll yeah it does...unfortunately there is no miracle magic day that your done cos we are all different...the other thing is that change is a little each day....day 12 is easier than day 1 but it's still brings its sh1t so we don't really notice that it is easier...but in time you look back and are so glad you stuck it out.

I only do my veg in dripping now for special occassions... an it always makes me a bit teary...both grandad and Grandma cooked their roast veg like this.

  11. G'day @Mac#23 and welcome. Biggest tip I have to offer any newbie is to just take it one day at a time...only focus on a single day...being 4 days in you know you can do 24 hours, you have already done it 3 times. Oh and don't worry about what others are doing with their quit, every quit us different so just do you.
  12. ^ need a worried face. meanwhile.... I'm thinking of @Boo cos he's the only person I know in Tennessee...and this might explain why he follows the Braves which are in a completely different state...

  14. Next yule be tellin me ya went for a bit of exercise down ya local beach.....pining for the crash of waves and brine. Me...getting triggered by morons on the news who ignored facts and then claimed they weren't told...an all 7 members of the Aussie high court....Shame, shame, shame.
  15. Confessing I don't do fennel...that slight aniseed taste it has is not to my liking.
  16. Almonds are great for diabetics and an appetite suppressant. Avocado falls into that category too. So does ginger and cinnamon. Apples do but they are high in sucrose so not really that good for diabetics. Green tea, with some ginger and cinnamon is a good option. You can slice strawberries in a water jug overnight and then the water will have a strawberry hint, hardly any sugar... you can add mint leaves too. Most green leafy vegetables are appetite suppressants, not as good as walnuts and almonds though... just be careful though as often these are high in sugars. Dark chocolate (preferably bitter) is both low in sugar and also an appetite suppressant. Patchouli oil is supposed to suppress your appetite if you burn it or rub it on your pulse points. Onions have more sugar than most fruit... often diabetics think they have had a nice healthy meal and the BSL will be high because of onion. My mum is diabetic. She always has almonds and walnuts to snack on.
  17. ^^ What she said @reciprocity

  19. Don't you have $1600 fines for more than 2?
  20. -1...would ya look at iso bringing all the oldies outta the woodwork.
  21. Isn't it anything more than 2 is a crowd?
  22. If everyone maintains the correct social distance is a crowd ok?
  23. 1 is the lie...cos, I dunno, I'm just guessing.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
