  1. Oh DV, how sucky that you had a crap ending to your first month. What a great day for you to make this post though, take all the power that today offers and May the Fourth be with you. Ok seriously this quitting thing is a roller coaster and you have handled the last two days just fine. You got through it and you can shore up your reserves for whatever the next hurdle may be because you are right there will be more but each one we get stronger and the addiction gets weaker. Keep your memory of the past two days close for now and remember this horror if you feel like turfing your quit because none of us ever want to go through that again.
  2. Do you all know what game we are playing? 2 are true, 1 is a lie..... SOOOOOOOOOOO.... 1. True... I hate apple juice, it is vomitus... and headache inducing... 2. True... I hate pineapple juice, its either sickly sweet or too acidic (I used to like it when I was still drinking but without the alcohol its a no, no, no) 3. LIE - I fricking LOVE orange juice... fresh squeezed, from the shop... with pulp,. without its all good to me. So Jillar with the table scraps gets the win.
  3. When you know a customer is lying to you, why can't you just say "Liar, liar, pants on fire"?

  6. OK... @jillar here is my weird and gross sock confession... I hate socks, can't stand them, they make my feet feel all icky... I can tolerate toe socks, you know those ones with a separate little pocket for each toe BUT they can not be matching... because that's bad luck... yes I know it is completely irrational for a 41 year old to have a phobia about wearing matching socks because it is bad luck but I will seriously have a panic attack.... so, i will either wear odd stripy toe socks OR I will go sock-less... as a result those few shoes I own that aren't thongs need to be kept outside as the are bio-hazards.
  7. @johnny5 ... props for finding a chicken one for International Respect of Chickens day... yes its a real thing not just a Jo think.
  8. Well done Edna... hope your coughs on the mend soon... get som Vics on it, although that yummy looking gin should help too.
  9. Great post @onthemark ... I hadn't really thought about it but this quit, from the moment I decided to see how far I could go I have said "I have quit smoking", not trying to, no quitting... just I have quit... I do think there is a big difference with the language you use and your psychological attitude to your quit. I also agree with Sazski above ... using "i'm trying" is junky talk... your establishing your failure right from the get go, quitting with a built in get out of jail free card. @Lin-quitting bonus points and a gold star for quoting Yoda on May the 4th be with you day.

Yogurt

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
