  1. Keep at it Linda, you can do this. Try to focus on the positives and realize that you are almost out of the physical withdrawals. It is tough but it can be done --- deep breathing techniques and drinking a lot of cold water can really help.
  2. Awesome job on the 7 month mark Gabes, you are moving along now. Make sure you take time to celebrate!!!!!!
  3. Get that NOPE out there way to go Linda!!!!!!
  4. Still here and still doing my daily NOPE!!!!!!
  5. Awesome job on the 5 month mark Kevin, movin along now
  6. Linda -- you can do this. I quit just a few months ago at the age of 64 and had many of the same anxieties that you are having. I can only say that it has been the best choice I have ever made. My family has been so happy that I have done this, especially my grandchildren. It may be a little hard at first but it does get easier. Drinking cold water, coming here to educate yourself and reach to the others is all very helpful -- but coming here to take the daily "NOPE" pledge is so important -- a commitment to yourself, may seem hokey (I kind of thought so) but it really helped me through and still does.
  7. Oh Fluffy One --- On the lido deck. Congratulations you surely deserve it, party hearty and enjoy yourself!!!!!!
  8. Joe glad you made it through this. With the other stuff going it can make it difficult. I agree with Jillar -- I still have my air cig and when it gets bad I go out to the front porch and suck in some air-- it helps. That was a close call, you need to remember no matter what the situation come here and post if need be post an SOS -- better safe than sorry, and we all want to help. We are here for you!!!!!!
  9. Oh Catlover fantastic job on the 6 month mark, half way there to the lido deck. All should be looking brighter now. Remember to take time and celebrate
  10. Clair thanks so much for giving us you update, it helps those of us are still moving through that first year. Much of what you said above is true for me to this point -- and yes it is getting easier.
  11. Jackie, good to have you along on this journey. Glad to see that you are back in your seat and going for the sticky quit. You can do this -- and remember that daily "NOPE" pledge.
  12. Awesome job Jack, congrats on the 1 year mark -- fantastic achievement. Enjoy the lido deck, you deserve it.

  14. Welcome aboard on this journey Nikki -- you have come to a great place. Take time to read and learn. There are a lot of great people here that are really great and always ready to help. Remember cold water will help as well as deep breathing -- many other tricks that others will share also. And remember to come back here every day to make your daily NOPE pledge -- it really does help.
  15. Hey Give -- good thing coming here. By posting this you are prepping for the possible trigger -- this will only strengthen your resolve should it happen. Just remember to take a deep breath and have some cold water available should it happen then take a step back and look at how far you have come and move forward --- you can do this!! And remember we are always here for you.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
