  2. DF, a lot of people prefer to "fake it til they make it". When I was having a rough patch, I would post and post encouraging others. I never said if I was struggling or not, I just told others they could do it. That helped me through my hard times. Again, if it was always easy, nobody would still be smoking. You are doing great, and this, too, shall pass...

Hi! Also looking forward to puppy pics!
  5. Oh, Geri, what a wonderful post! You are doing great, and I admire your attitude and determination. I promise you I am not struggling, anymore. Do I have thoughts of smoking? Sometimes, when in a stressful situation...but then I remind myself smoking will not help and move on. It takes less than a second, I'm sure. As others have said, it is like shooing away a pesky fly. Keep up the great work, and we are glad you are here!

  10. So happy for you, MG! Two weeks is a huge accomplishment....keep up the great work!!
  11. Geri, you are doing great. Cry, scream, rant, rave, sing, dance, beat up your pillow, stay in the shower crying till the hot water runs out, run up and down stairs until you can't go any further (thanks for that one goes to the Sarge) do anything but smoke. You are not going to feel like this forever...it does get better!! But it is a process, not an event, so be patient with yourself!

  19. The only trigger that I still get frequently is if I am working on a challenging project...I will get a urge to walk outside and smoke and then come back to it. I have learned that it is the walk outside that helps...not the smoke!
