  1. Hi K (again). Yes, what you said is true. You used the test as an excuse to continue but I do understand your dilemma. That first week is tough and your head can be in a real fog for awhile with ability to concentrate negatively affected so it was a tough choice for you I'm sure. Now that you have had a small taste of the early stages of quitting, you can be well prepared to take it on and beat this addiction. Once you get through that very early part, you will realize how the smoking never really helped you in those stressful situations and you will be able to carry on with your life quite nicely without them. Let us know how you're doing as you get started again and please reset your quit date in your profile so I can make sure we recognize your important milestones properly.
  2. Speedboat All Inclusive Land Vacation or Cruise Vacation?
  3. Way to go MM! You are now just a month away from the sought after Lido Deck. What an inspiration to those of us coming along the path after you. I hope you come back and say Hi. You really deserve to celebrate your accomplishment. I know it hasn't always been easy but you have fought hard and now you're almost there :D
  4. Angie I hope you are looking in on our community today and realize that you are not alone in this journey. We are all here to cheer you on and support you in any way we can. We have ALL gone though the same thing so we know exactly what you are experiencing. Lean on us but make your own unwavering commitment to never take another puff! Doesn't matter if you do it fast or slow as long as you make it to the finish line smoke free :)

  12. Calling all Newbies. If you find yourself needing to keep occupied and you're tired of reading all the serious stuff then why not check out the Games page of the forum. There's plenty of mind numbing stuff there to keep you busy for awhile. We only have one rule ........................... there's a 1 month reverse count rule for the "chicks or sticks" game. This means any "chick" (female player) playing this game must, for the first month, ADD one NOT take one away. It's kind of an initiation rule :) I'll have Bakon keep an eye on things to make sure everyone is adhering to this rule. Thank You and have fun playing!!

  19. That's the way Kellemae. I know it's tough at first, really tough but I promise it will get easier as long as you don't smoke again - not even 1 puff. Just do what you have to not to give into that voice that is trying to deceive you. As Parsley says, no matter what stress is thrown at you in life, smoking will not help. Smoking is only feeding your addiction to nicotine. It won't make any of life's problems better in fact, the opposite is true. Stay strong my friend. Each time you successfully fight an urge to smoke, you get stronger and the addiction gets weaker. That's how it goes so, stick with the program and you'll be OK.

I believe there was a recent survey on whether she should be naught or nice? (Oh my; I'm actually starting to understand all this nonsense :o )

  22. Welcome to the Quit Train georgen :) You have made the right decision to quit smoking and from the sounds of your situation, there is no choice really - you MUST quit smoking. One of our members here (Doreen) will I'm sure have some information for you on how smoking can negatively effect your circulation. It's a real threat, not just cancer and what not. Having a good support group is vital. I found that out myself just by joining this one. You won't find a better group to support you through your quit but of course, YOU are the main attraction here and will have to do the heavy lifting yourself. Just commit to getting this done, do the hard work and we will support you and cheer you on :) Oh and georgen, your family knows you're smoking. I would bet on it. You can try but it's virtually impossible to mask that smell. Think about maybe including them in the support effort. I'm sure they would love to. Looking forward to sharing your journey to freedom!
  23. Congratulations H2N!! Your 7 month quit is awesome. I'm sure your really enjoying the benefits of quitting and that part has just begun. Keep your eye on the ball now H2N and you'll be settling down on the Lido Deck before you know it :)
  24. Hey Andy, you're almost there that that long awaited, hard fought for 1 year mark. In fact, I think I see that ship with the Lido Deck hanging around just offshore. Great job my friend!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
