  1. I think it's the "this is too hard and beside, that bad stuff will never happen to me" attitude. It catches up with all of us sooner or later unless we are strong enough to make a stand and thank God for sites like this that lend us the support we need to make it through this quitting process. It's not easy; that's for sure but in the end, it's so well worth the sacrifice! I can't imagine going back to smoking and I'm only 5 months quit. My only regret is that I didn't find this path sooner but, I guess we are all on our own individual time frame in terms of when we make the move to take back our lives and extend our lives at the same time :)

  4. Even though the cost of smokes just went up another $0.25/pack, it's not costing me that much to smoke
  5. ^^^ Good to see you starting over again HN :) NOPE!
  6. ^^^ Yup - Timmies (Tim Horton's coffee) on the dash and a Moose racing you down the Hwy - lol

  9. Yeah- I had that one too back in the day - smell me coming a block away. Brut and, Hi Karate - LOL Us "unattached" young dudes used to bath in that stuff  Probably why I don't go near that stuff anymore - lol.

  12. Forgetting that you were ever a smoker is great Kenzie!! Best you could hope for. Probably a good thing that your are busy as that keeps you occupied and less focused on smoking issues. You do this for yourself but the positive ripple effects for your little one are a huge bonus too:) Great Job!!

  16. Sorry, can't help ya. Don't wear that stuff - just underarm deodorant is all I roll with :) Maybe one of the younger guys could help, try Jules or Boo maybe.
  17. Congratulations Jackie for reaching this amazing milestone - 6 months smoke free!! Be sure to treat yourself with something nice to mark the occasion then you can push forward toward that Lido Deck :)
  18. Great job Dee! You've managed to build a really solid 7 month quit. Celebrate your new milestone today and guard that quit!

  20. So sorry to hear you gave in to the addiction HN :( Glad to hear that you are taking responsibility for what happened and more importantly, learned a very valuable lesson. Smoking doesn't make anything in your life better, just adds to your problems! Happy to hear you're going to start over again but you also need to reflect on what just happened and what you intend to do to avoid the same result this time around. Maybe post up something in the "Pre Respond to You Own SOS" thread on the SOS page on this board. That way, you can read that when you're feeling weak and need an immediate reminder of why you wanted to quit in the first place. You now even better understand just how strong and tricky this addiction is and how determined you need to be in order to beat it. We're here to support you but YOU have to do the actual quitting. Let's get this done!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
