I learned that watching Coronation Street 😆 They all go to Roy's Rolls Cafe in the morning for a Tea & Bacon Buttie. Couldn't figure it out for a long time until I saw one closer up and realized it was a sandwhich on a bun! I believe English Bacon is different than what's commonly eaten in North America. More like what we call Canadian Bacon or Peameal Bacon?
