  5. well it just figures a thread named "i need to be held" would end up with Marti and Sue talking dirty...but now, you are both corrupting sweet Doreen!! haha
  6. It's Friday......and it's time to load the passengers. Regulars of course...and hopefully some newbies along the way. Who is coming? I need a head count. NOPE!!!!! I will not smoke today since it's shark week, let's make it a shark train
  7. Lol. Marti. Probably more than likely because I had 2 kids by the time I reached 20 My friends were off at college having fun and I was busy changing diapers, going to school and scraping money up for rent. It was never "my time". So, now it is. I never wanted to be that parent that waits around for their kids to call or drop in. I want my kids calling me saying. "Mom...are you free Saturday?" Lol. I love my kids but while they are off living their lives..I plan to do the same. That just makes the time we do spend together that much more precious and appreciated.
  8. i did all that stuff you guys mention....for 27 years in a row!! I played the role of both the mother and many times, the father too (sports, activities, coaching sports in had no business coaching) I'm done now.... :) and I love it haha I have great memories of my kids growing up and I can say I really never took it for granted..always appreciated that some day they will grow up and move out and my house will be quiet. Maybe that's why I am handling this empty nest thing well. I have the memories....I don't need them in real time. It's time to make new memories now :)
  9. chrispy...i feel ya... and to make you more anxious....these 4 years will fly! I was so brave when my other 2 grew up and moved out...but my youngest?? that' was tough less than 2 months ago I watched him walk down the aisle to get his diploma...and now i"m looking at pics on facebook trying to pick my kid out of a group of 100 soldiers in training while he attends boot camp this house is way too quiet There are perks...privacy..nobody using my car, food bill, electric bill, car insurance, haha......and I'm getting used to the quiet. I look at it as a new chapter in my life. Different....yes...but doesn't mean it's a bad thing. An adventure. What will happen next?? who knows :) excited to find out
